Perhaps, however there is a tricky balance between creating functional users and overwhelming them.

That looks so much easier than mIRC it is not even funny. Even now, mIRC has zillions of options of which I have no idea what they do

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but, isn't the standard install directory for Sysreset c:\Program Files\Sysreset?
Its that way on my PC, anyways.

Well then that should be reason enough to use opera. When I first wanted to use irc it was so annoying where you had to go modify all the options in MIRC. With opera I only had to input three things count em three. Name, Email and nick Name. That is it everything else works as is. I doubt there could be any simpler way to use IRC than this. There can't. In less than three minutes I was downloading from lurk. Oh the program is the latest version of adobe captivate. Just download the trial version from adobe's website and you can use it for thirty days or if you don't mind you can pm me when you have it installed and i'll send you the *coughs to *ack it.

Just a thanks for helping out. Although I have been using the irc for alwhile, I did run into a bit of trouble. This simple and plainly written guide helped me fix the problem immediately with no hassle.
Is there a place to post about specific problems?? I am curious as to why after all this time of using the irc suddenly my nick became "Unregistered".

Thanks, well that explains that. Nice to know.
I am wondering if there is a more complete guide to irc functions? I find the help index totally confusing most times. There are a few things that I would really like to know in greater details. Trivial litte things I'm sure to most users, but these things really are a bother when I can't do what seems to be understood by almost everyone else.

I was reading around and found people saying copying and pasting is bad. Whats wrong with it?

It's because a lot of people also copy and paste the wrong stuff.
When you download off IRC, for bots, it almost always starts with
/msg blah blah blah
but when people copy and paste, sometimes this happens:
"/msg blah blah blah
and then they get banned in some channels...

That happened to me once, but you'll only get banned for a few minutes in lurk i believe.. (not sure since i visit again after like an hour or so xD)

I remember getting banned once from lurk for the whole copy & paste thing, but the funny thing was was that I hit the copy button on the lurk website like they tell you to do.
Now I use the status window so that it doesn't happen again
