I'm not looking forward to this, though.

I've read Twilight and the three sequels, and well, it's good, but not that good for my taste. I probably will skip the movie. I don't want to be bored to death. Haha.

NO THNX.

Fangirls can be so cruel. "o, he's ugly" "o he's not attractive enough" Don't judge people by their looks. People can't help how they look yknow. Don't insult a guy you don't even know.

I have read some of the books, but it started to get too gay and fangirly for me. Girls squawking over a guy that doesn't even exist and bashing Bella because she stoled their beloved away. Too weird.

If I had a girlfriend, I would not take her to see Twilight because she would not be one of those squawking, shallow, superficial, nutty, rabid fangirls.

I do understand how fans can be mean, but back on topic, I'm wondering if I should take a stab at reading Twilight.

I doubt I'll see the movie until it comes out on DVD or on cable, but I'm really interested in the book series. Though there's a slim chance I'll enjoy it, I'd still like to read it for reading's sake. There's been both bad and good hype about it that I want to decide for myself.

Not every female who read twilight turned into a raving lunatic. I know of several people in this forum that obsess over characters in anime and manga and are just as delusional as the twilight fan girls. I am not one of them but I enjoyed the book although I do not consider it to be great literature.

I tend to lean more toward robin McKinley, Patricia Briggs, Laurell k Hamilton, etc. but was given twilight for my birthday by my 27 yr old sister who insisted I read it. It sat on my shelf for 2 months before I opened it. I’m glad I did. It was a fun read, not too serious but kept my interest. I know I won't like the movie as much as the book, I never do. As a 24 yr old educated female I would recommend twilight to anyone looking for a good "rainy day" book. If you are looking for great literature with a complex story I would stick to the classics.

Like oh-so many of these things, it is indeed a good book, however I should never go as far as to say it is actually worthy of all the hype which has been built up. So many of these Twilight obsessives give fans a bad name, make it look like all teenage girls are totally obsessed with this franchise which has sprung up recently.

Just "Meh."

Oh wow. I just found out that all the movie tickets for the release weekend is all sold out! Damn those obsessive fangirls! Meh, I can wait a week for it...I could probably wait months until it comes out onto DVD...*is going to get dragged to the movies by obsessive fangirl friends dead*

It's coming out this Friday! I will go and watch it with my friends and hope for the best. Although the trailer isn't very appealing, I will watch it just cause I read the book.

I also noticed that it was highly advertised when I was watching TV yesterday. I guess cause a lot of people read the book they're investing a lot on the movie too. roll eyes

So, I am now sufficiently pissed of.

I was informed today that this stupid movie is tainting my beautiful Iron and Wine. I don't think I've ever been this angry before.

mad

I say it is your responsibility as a human being to protest that disastrous conception. I am disgusted. mad

I'm going to go see it so I can ruin it for my little sister. (Who is a fan girl...) I'm going to laugh at all the serious parts and make fun of all the rest, because thats what I do in movies.

I tried reading the first book, but I had to quit after the first chapter... its so unbelievably stupid I nearly barfed.

Twilight was a good read when I was stuck in the dark during a power outage.

After the librarian recommended the book to me forever ago, I started seeing it everywhere, and I'm more than pissed at the fangirls. They insist on talking about Twilight in loud voices, wear the useless t-shirts, and dragging the book with them everywhere they go.

Seriously, I can't have a decent conversation with anyone anymore because of their shrieks killing any coherent thoughts I may have.

This is like what happened to Blood and Chocolate, but on a higher level.

I own the book, btw, only because my friend bought it for me as a birthday present. roll

I'm still reading the entire series~!
I wanted to watch the movie, but when I saw the actors I was like eek no
I don't know, but the guy who's playing Edward doesn't really have pale skin + he's not hot, but just a little. Also, Bella's actress sounds kinda monotone and stuff, so yeah.
Today in my 1st period class, the preps just kept talking and talking about it, since they went to the midnight premier some people were like "don't talk about it! I'm going to go see it today!"
So I might watch the movie someday, or maybe I'll just stick to the books

I just finished reading the first Twilight book, and it was surprisingly good. Though I doubt I'll watch the movie until it's out on DVD or cable, I have a feeling that I might enjoy it as well. Some state that the movie was at least decent...I hope that I find that they're right.

I'm going to go see it tomorrow, if I can even get in. I don't really have any high standards for it. The books were kinda blah, they were all kind of the same. Number four was just like KILLURSELFNOW. -__-
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Srsly, wdf, Bella got PREGNANT. -____- and LIVED. and then turned into a vampire and had awesome powers. GODWDF.
You can't really expect *anyone* to play Edward just right, seeming as he's supposed to be perfect.

So as and avid erm... disliker, of course I can only end up commenting on the bad things >.>

Anyways, I found this article today:

http://www.filmblather.com/review.php?n=twilight

Totally made me day

Edit: Just want to add, Yes, I have read all the books. (Twilight - BD)
And honestly, if I knew that BD was going to be like that, she should have just ended at Eclispe.

Or better yet, Twilight.

I agree...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Edward takes her to a cloud break at the top of a mountain. With a fierce glint in his eye, he growls (I'm paraphrasing), "let me show you what you've fallen in love with," and steps into the sun. Does his skin start burning? Does he scream in pain? No, no. He glitters. His skin sparkles. "It's beautiful," swoons Bella. These aren't vampires. These are fairies.

.....i lol'd so hard.
