I've been wondering for a while now, what does bishounen and bishies mean?
I understand it means "hot guy" or something close to it but where in the world did the word some from?

My favorites are:
Akira and Shirogane from Monochrome Factor (actually there are many smexy-looking guys in MF)
Natsume Takashi from Natsume Yujin-Cho
Cain from God Child and Kanade from Zero no Soukoushi (both by Yuki Kaori)
Titi from Sequence
Maki from the Top Secret (actually a josei)
The other bishies I like are from shonen and seinen manga. They are too many to mention. I must say Asagi from Category: Freaks and Akira from Hikaru no Go are two of those who have the best hair and clothing.

I love Yoh in Koukou Debut, he's just yummy.
And tho it's a manhwa, the dude in You're So Cool is just wonderful.
Obviously the guys in Vampire Knight, and anything by that mangaka, the one in her Wanted is also cute.
The mangaka Kayano's people are also very very good looking.

I've always had this thing for guys with dark hair and ice blue eyes, so I tend that way in manga/anime too.

EDIT: Ok, it's not shoujo, but I have to mention the boys from Saiyuki!! Sanzo, Gojyo, Hakkai, Goku, and Kougaiji all have their cute moments. (I lean toward Kougaiji and Hakkai mostly.)

I love Souryo Fuyumi's art so Rei from Mars is like my Shoujo Adonis- his devil-may-care attitude & honest-straight forward approach.
Miyasaka Kaho's bishies are very girly yet I love the way they look. No particular characters as I look at their looks only. Except I do like the Kare First love lead coz he's easy going.
I do love Peach Girl's Okayasu Kiri, sweet playboy - my fave type!!
I like Zero from Vampire Knight - I dont generally like the mangaka's robotic bishies but though all the bishies look related in this manga- I like Zero's recklessness and aloofnessness. The right kind of coolness is a very tricky personality to depict.

I agree with Night Swan about Yuki Kaori's guys
All of the guys by Hibiki Wataru are gorgeous but my fav is Leo from Shounen Dolls
Tsukimori Len and Kaji Aoi from La Corda dOro
Definitely Zero from Vampire Knight
Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin from Ouran
I forgot what his full name but his called Aya from Penguin Revolution
again, forget the name but the one with glasses and black haired teacher from Crossroad
Aku from Gaba Kawa
and lastly, cannot forget Kyo (one of my first bishies  ) from Fruits Basket
The names I just mentioned are droollicious just by looking at them..LOL Actually there are more, but to be fair, since this is titled "Pretty boys.." I thought that only guys that made my heart flutter and filled with flowers when I first saw them, are appropriate to be here
