I always pick up a new manga by its cover and look through it (to see if the art inside is good) and if it is, I read the discription x] Though I did get King of Thorn from its cover roll eyes

While I don't buy a manga unless I can tolerate the art, I would not buy a manga solely for the art on it's cover.

I voted "All the time." A really nice cover always gets an automatic +1 from me, while a dull/ugly cover gets a -1. If you've put some effort into creating the manga, why not put some more effort into effective marketing?

Has anyone ever seen a manga where the skill of the art on the cover isn't indicative of the skill used inside the manga?

My thoughts exactly.

Yeah, I hate when that happens.
It's like they scammed you! mad

But then I read nonetheless, since it had an interesting description.

hmm i used to skim thrpough descriptions but i realized i was missing out on sooooo many good mangas!!! so now i read descriptions and take the cover art with a grain of salt. Some of the series i thought i would hate i ended up loving. And even if its sounds like a So-so manga i read it anyways sometimes descriptions can be misleading!

I might pick it up to see what the series is about depending on the cover, so I do judge it by its cover sometimes.

well you see the cover before you decide to read the synopsis.. if the cover art isn't that interesting, I won't bother reading anything..

Unless I heard a good review, or the name was catchy...

unfortunately in my country it's impossible to find out in stores some manga that you haven't already known... most of them I've actually already read, so I buy them just to check the translation and to have a good-looking tankobon on my shelf cool
I've picked up to read almost all manga after recommendations on various forums and reading descriptions for example on "mangaupdates"

Well... if it doesn't have a synopsis, then I do, but if it does, then I read it. The cover does help though because you can tell how they draw.

Haha, sometimes, if the title sounds stupid, I won't even click it to see the cover or read the review. laugh I'm a horrible person.
