I have to say, I used to think manga readers were a pretty narrow group of people, but between this thread and meeting a bunch of people at work who've read manga (people I never would have expected) I've definitely learned that this is not the case.

I am also interested in modern interpretations of Confucianism (ie. Mou Zongsan and Du Weiming) and I have also pursued interests in Shinto, Buddhist, Ancient Egyptian and Greek/Roman traditions and mythologies bringing me to visit many temples, shrines and churches in some of these countries.
Education: Just finished a joint degree in Chinese and History. I am preparing for the JLPT N1, this coming December, a culmination of personal study of Japanese during the past 6 years.
