i dont really care, but we are evolved from apes.
there is no god.

Then where did apes come from eh??
JK... they evolved from something else, but Where did all matter come from?
Answer that (if you say big bang)?
Where did the energy for the big bang come from?

SHNAP

I'm going to suggest that it's all one huge paradox created by a guy with a time machine. The first thing he does is try to go back and see the big bang with his girlfriend, which inadvertently generates the energy necessary to create the universe. Then, when trying to get back to his own time, he miscalibrates the toy and the two get stuck in an Adam and Eve style pre-history with a broken time machine.

Nope the origin of universe and species is God installing the Sims for the first time on his Windows 2000.

Now we've entered the territory of Deus Ex Machina.

Hmm not really. I believe that everything comes from G*d. Whether evolution plays a factor does not affect my faith. If G*d used evolution he used evolution if he did not he did not. :/

So yeah no.

Edit:
Funkmu ~ you've discovered the secret of life XD

the start of our past would help to predict the end of our future...so yea, i think it's important to find out the beginning of our species in order to hypothesize the direction we're heading to

No, it does not matter to me, since its in the past, and the past needs to stay in the past.

That's wrong.
The past should be reviewed as an example to the mistakes and rights that can happen. Forggeting it is wrong..

There are things in the past that do need to be forgotten tho, just for the sake of simplicity in life.

Life is far to complicated nowadays.

is beginning important? hell yeah.

I was raised in christian family right. so I went to church every week. and my beliefs got shaped the way a kids beliefs do. but then a time came when I started questioning everything. which inadvertently made me into what I am now. so I questioned everything I've been learning my whole life. "ignorance is a bliss" it is said. I think it is something that should not exist. because we become content with what we are, with what we know. this is globally called "growing up".. sucky humanity.

I personally believe nothing is possible without God. I got to that opinion on my own. so if you have your own opinion about it, I respect that. I don't want to go missionary assed on you or anything. why would I? I just want people to wonder. to think. and whatever deduction they get from that, it is fine. we just shouldn't take everything for granted. >.<

Yes, because if it's possible to replicate, the world could end up changing a lot.

I'm OK with any creature in the Universe if it is a reasonable one. This is enough. laugh

I put down sort of. While I feel that the origin of humanity is a very interesting and important question, I do not feel so for any other reason than for its answers potential future applications. It is valuable as a scientific question, not a philosophical one.

On a socialogical standpoint human history is very important as we do not repeat past mistakes. On a scientific standpoint it's just an intellectual exercise as I cannot see how we can apply the origin of our species to practical use (some comments would be nice). On a philosophical/religious standpoint, personally, I think it's a huge waste of time to debate such things as they become extremely abstract and intangible extremely quickly. It's important to some people as it's part of their core belief system, but although it'd make an interesting debate and lecture for me, it won't have a lasting impact or any practical application in my life.

Anyway who cares? If we go on about this, god will just create a room with no doors and no toilets and put us all in there and we'll all die of starvation and be turned into zombies. bigrazz Sims ftw.

From a scientific standpoint it would be very helpful to be able to repeat and/or recognize the process by which we evolved. Of course that isn't the only (or primary) possible application, and rarely are the most practical applications of these types of things seen in advance.

Edit: edited for redundancy.

it doesn't really affect me, as in everyday life type of stuff. But since I absolutely love learning (I'm a little weird), I really do want to know. it's not important.. it's just.. I want to know, as in the same way I want to know just about everything about science and history. heh.
