To obtain the goals set by today's culture? I'm not sure. All I really know is that living day-to-day has been enjoyable. Maybe the purpose of life is to die, I won't be sure until I die anyways.

But I somehow feel like I'm here to take care of kids. And by kids, I'm talking everything from babies to high schoolers...but I personally think that "purpose in life" is a very personal thing, not something that can be generalized across humanity or even a single culture. Because even something as simple as "to survive" doesn't really work.

I don't know if that's the purpose of life, exactly, but it does make a nice perk.
This thread has me thinking of Monty Python's 'The Meaning of Life'. That's about as deep as I care to think on the subject.

great, now even house fans like yaoi...what has this world come to =/
as to the topic...there is none, why would there be any purpose ? you can only make up your own pupose for yourself which, of course, wont serve any other purpose than make your life worth living (in your eyes at least)

Why does life have to have a meaning?
Why can't it just "be"?
Would it throw you into a downward spiral to think there's not some "higher purpose" for which we were created, or some "higher being" that created us?
I personally believe that we evolved and weren't "created" for any particular purpose other than as another animal in the food chain.
If there is a "higher being", it doesn't concern itself with us anymore than most of us concern ourselves with the everyday life of a germ. We just let it be.

I remember that I had to write a paper about this in 11 grade... at the time I wrote a seven page paper explaining why life was god's joke on humanity...
I think I might have gotten a B or an A, but it's been too long; so, I can't remember which one.
Anyways, I guess I'd have to say that life just is...
