The truth i really really think that it is stupid to end the Rurouni Kenshin series like that...Honestly, I think that it is a lame ending for such a awsome story..The first time i saw the ending, I burst out crying :'(....I mean Rurouni Kenshin to me is one hell of a man..His personality is great....Any gurl would be lucky to be loved by him...If only he was real But now he is not only not real .. he's dead!
Anyways, I started this thread to noe how u feel about Kenshin's death??

Actually Kenshin only died like that in the anime, the manga had a different ending with a time skip with all the characters a little older and kenshin has a kid. Go read the manga, the ending there is more fun

Y'know...I actually see the anime "time skip" of older Kenshin as a Separate Alternate story rather than a canonised version of the manga..
The Anime ending SUCKED big time. Srsly, all those romance in the series...and for what..?
Spoiler (highlight to view) ..Kenshin leaving Kaoru and his son, lost his memories, becoming a bad father.. and eventually dies because of some unknown disease after FINALLY meeting his wife??
The manga has a very heart-warming ending.

Whoa what? I read and saw this series about two years ago so it's a little fuzzy to remember. I thought Kenshin fights his ex-lover's brother who is out to avenge his sister which makes up the last arc of the Rourini Kenshin manga series. Or are my memories bad? And in the anime I only remember the son being shown at the very end of the series which basically reminds me of the manga ending or was there more to the ending in the anime I don't recall?

Check out this horrible Kenshin spin-off.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LYLsXHl0Uo&feature= channel It tells the story of Kenshin's son...and Kenshin's tragic end... You can watch it from Part 1 if you want to..but the first few epi are just summarising everything.

No wonder...I never saw this Manga ending much better by comparison. The Reflection is not necessary.

@LunaMay
Dont bother watching the crappy anime ending..it will scarred you for the rest of your life. It's one of the worst ending I've ever seen in an anime-manga adaptation.
@Kumagoro

It's a waste of time. Why would they make a movie SUMMARISING all that has happened in the anime episodes and then gives off an alternate ending to a great masterpiece??
Samurai X:reflection wasnt even created by Watsuki-sensei. It has been stated that he didnt even like that anime script and said Kenshin deserves a happy ending.

I have to agree with everybody's opinion. The OVA sucks!!! They have violate the masterpiece of the great Watsuki-sensei, who he was the sensei to the three well known mangaka; Takei Hiroyuki, Mashima Hiro, and the genius Oda Eiichiro. I really wanna know who is the idiot who wrote the OVA's script.

Hmmm, speaking of his son, I remember reading something about the author saying Kenji growing up to be more twisted than Shishio and more egoistic than Saito.
Anyway, read the manga.

I don't know what you guys were smoking, but the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs were brilliant. And everyone dies eventually, you know... They're trying to give us a lesson that even mighty "Battousai"'s age and grow old someday. At the end, after defeating all his foes, he can't beat Mother Nature.
And it's been a long time since I saw those OVAs, but I thought that the disease was basically AIDS? Or some variation of it, I'm not sure. o__o And they didn't exactly have protection in those days.
I need to rewatch those OVAs though. It's been 5+ years.
