Wrong section.
Moved.

Are you new to Berserk? The mangaka releases a small number of chapters every year.
I don't see anything different in the current pace.

Esteemed mangaka Kentaro Miura, known for his long running masterwork Berserk, has once again suspended serialisation of the manga, after only recently restarting it, apparently in order to play Idol Master.

“Taking a break from next chapter onwards” runs the next chapter preview; his remark in the index comments is: “I was lonely so I bought it, Idol Master, and an Xbox

Lol laugh

Maybe.
But he'd probably die first and leave us: eek

I wish more was going on...

Even when he does release something, the last bunch of chapters have held like 5 lines total of dialogue. He can't think of anything so just draws giant cluttered images of things cutting each other. He needs to get on with it and write something. sad

maybe this is a good thing, ya know? Maybe he needed a break, and that explains why everything he's written since the band of the hawks arc has sucked

I honestly don't think he has any idea where he wants to go with this manga, I think he should just wrap it up and start something new, cuzz he's clearly lost his drive for writing this

i'm in the same boat as sijy on this. i think the manga is going in a great direction as well. it's not boardering on overly tragic themes all the time, in which it would get tedious and boring. it's fulfilling it's role as an epic like it should. i think he's joking probably in regards to quitting for Idol Master. he's probably gathering material or focusing on the plot. he is a big fantasy fan so i'm sure he's doing excessive amounts of research for his next moves.

I would think that dialog would be the easy part, since each picture is worth > 1000 words for Berserk. (simply consider the gaze Gutts has while crazy Caska is playing in the surf before they met the mystery boy).

I have enjoyed Berserk in the old and new arc. My main issue is that for every picture worth a bunch of words, he fills another chapter with just random monsters fighting lately. That said the 303 is a nice change of pace.

And whats with Miura's change of pace lately, it's almost like he suddenly wants to finish the series at the pace he is going. 304 on 22/05 apparently, that's like quicker than monthly
biggrin

I still like berserk, I've been getting the manga as it's been released in the U.S. but soon they're going to catch up. I just picked up volume 32 and 33 comes out in february.

volume 34 will probably be out by april or may and then I'm in for a long wait.

I just wish I didn't have to wait months in between each chapter release I don't care what the excuse is.

In this case I'll take a bit of quantity over quality or at least a book or something from him to keep me occupied in between the hiatuses.

I also think he'll die before this series ever comes to an end and therefore I seriously hope he has a script written somewhere because I don't want the series to die with him.

Though I must be honest I have recently gotten into berserk and by recent I mean I've been reading it for the past six years.

My question is

Over the past 20 years, has he always been this slow?
