Okay if you're a fan like I am you'd realize that a week ago fox aired the 400th episode of The Simpsons. (400 more please ) So I became enfatuated with the Simpsons when I was 5 years old and went on vacation in Canada to visit relatives. Ever since then I have gotten the episodes through all sorts of ways and means(it's what inspired me to learn bittorent and irc). So now that I downloaded ep 400. I have a copy of every single episode and have seen them all at least once

Now The Simpsons is filled with subtleties and inside jokes enough to waste your life away researching. And I have to give it up to the creators and writers. I also started collecting memorabilia(something i've never done before) and i also purchased(yes purchased) the dvd box sets for seasons 1-5.

My favourite character would be Homer. Bart comes Second. Homer because he's the driving force of the show whether it's his patented space age moon waffles which he wraps around a stick of butter and eats in one gulp or his wierd sayings and sounds or his lazy idiotic personality. You can't help but like the guy. Every now and then I even put a quote from him in my sig. Here are a few:

My top three favourite characters are Marge, Ralf, and Millhouse (is that how you spell his name??)

Marge is that stay-at-home wife you just have to give props to for putting up with Homer and Bart.
Ralf is the somewhat mentally retarded kid of Chief Wiggums that is so stupid that he'sfunny.
and you can't help but feel sorry for Millhouse who's parents are divorced and he's stuck with his loser dad, and he has an unrealistic idea about him and Lissa....he's depressing to even look at...XD

Hmm although people have said it has declined in quality recently I disagree sure they have run intoa wall with a few episodes but most of them are still fresh. Did you see the 24 parody they couldn't have done it better imo.

Also I fogot to mention another of my favourites : Sideshow Bob (Voiced by Kelsey Grammer from Frasier) , that guy is the epitamy of a crazed genius madman lol. There's an episode where he and his brother appear and his brother is more evil than him the brother was voiced by(David Hyde Pyrce from Fraiser) and the episode was named Brother from another series . If you don't see the sophisticated humour in that well you aren't that developed upstairs (if u know what i mean )

Self-correction: I stopped watching early 300's, not 250's.

Their humor has never really gotten bad (even though all the great quotables are of older episodes), it is just the Simpsons stopped being human beings. As the show went on, zany humor replaced likable characters. I once loved the whole Simpson family, now there are times when I can't stand to watch them.

Besides, Family Guy was always better suited for the zany humor bid. They never try to get you to feel for their characters, so they can pretty much do whatever they want, e.g. it is not where near so horrifying so see, Stewy beating Brian half to death, heck, it's funny. I couldn't watch the Simpsons being flat-out bad people like that.

Meh I kinda see what you're saying but I just love their recent craziness as well. Also if you look at futurama it was way more emotional than the Simpsons look at the episode Jurrasic Bark for instance or The whole fry and leela saga (Parasites Lost and The one where he's stung by a bee and she thinks he died but it was leela who was poisoned and fry was just gouged and she was dreaming the whole thing) Really emotional episodes. Simpsons and family guy can't touch Futurama there.

Okay you know this Gir but the two worst cancellations in recent memory:
1. Futurama
2. Invader Zim

Why does family guy get brought back when the superior product got flushed away? Okay Futurama is coming back but it should have been sooner.
Invader Zim is kinda different it was a nick show after all maybe they should have aired it on a more mature station. Okay face it Family Guy is definitely the low brow (low brau- beer in futurama) of all these shows it appeals to the obviously less intelligent and that's why it's still around. It's only funny sometimes and rarely has anything that's more than toilet humour. Although I watch certain episodes You can't really compare Family Guy to the simpsons it's like comparing something (C) Mattel corp and Made in Taiwan it's a knock off no offense. I love treehouse of horror XIII attack of the revenge of the clones or something like that where there's a field of homer clones and boom for like a second peter is mixed in with them. Hilarious.
