I wonder if anyone has mentioned Mel Gibson's epic masterpiece, BraveHeart.... nothing beats mad Scots. Also MadMax.
was it Mel who said 'and i shoot thunderbolts from my arse'
...truly an epic film
did you know they actually put a mel gibson as william wallace statue in Stirling but somebody smashed the face with a hammer, and after they repaired it they made a cage around it...so much for freedom
didn't like his other epics that much...

Didn't know bout that.... U live in Britain or somethin?
Somewhat agree with u on epics. Most try to punch above their weight but fall short. LOTR and Gladiator were ok, I guess. Ben-Hur is overrated, IMHO, but it probably was great for it's time. 300 isn't exactly 'epic' but as I was walking out of the theater after watching it, I had this urge to bash someone's head with a blunt object, so I guess it's 'powerful' in that respect.
BTW... I think Wallace & Gromit is epic!
Heh!

my fav movies are
my sassy girl,
restless,
5cm/sec,
fatal contact,
voices of a distant star,
the place promised in our early days,
twins mission,
evil cult,
the white dragon.

exactly...no need to look for any deeper meaning

Memento
Directed by Christopher Nolan (Insomnia, Batman Begins..etc)
Vastly underrated. Should be in everyone's collection.

Anyone saw the Deer Hunter? A mid-70's movie.
Those roulette scenes sure were nerve-wrecking!
Excellent acting from Robert DeNiro too~
Don't forget Christopher Walken and Meryl Streep!

Hmm.
Reservoir Dogs
Petrified Forest
Battle Royale
Dark Passage
Children's Hour
Anatomie
The Princess Bride
The Village
Lost Boys
Last Life in the Universe
Three Extremes (well, Cut wasn't as good as Dumplings and Box)
Princess and the Warrior
Really, the list goes on and on. I have no life so I live vicariously through movies.
