I curse often. But I've been trying to cut back to give my curse words more impact. So I can have those words people are just like "woah" to.

me too i'm trying to save them for when they really count

My kids are starting to swear WAY too much. dead I'm not one to care about an occasional cuss word when you slam your fingers in the door or whatever, but they've gotten in the habit of using certain words ALL THE TIME. Gotta love jr. high. dead

(Yes...I do tell them to stop because I just don't like hearing those words all the time. I don't want to make it forbidden & therefore cool roll eyes but I'm also really REALLY tired of hearing some of their favorite words.)

My mom didn't hear a single curse word from me until I turned 18.

Why?

Because I learned first hand how terrible a bar of Dial tastes.

*lol* Sounds like something my Dad would do.

@Lezama
I don't think swearing is our only form of release for anxiety.

I usually don't cuss, but I do it sometimes when it seems necessary due to the fact that some of the people that I deal with are incompetent fags.

Now I completely understand what you mean by it sometimes being necessary. Sometimes a bad word carries across your point or feelings better than a non-swear word. Now, if I hear any of my siblings swear, I don't get onto them even though I should, unless they use this one specific word that I just cannot stand.

i cuss occasionally
sometimes to make myself sound edgey. sometimes in a joke.
but naturally i used to think cussing was so unnecassary. if i fell in love with a female that recommended me not to cuss. i wouldn't cuss anymore cool

I do cuss, because I've just gotten used to it. I try to keep it toned down (especially in public, but it slips out anyway). I say shit and damn all the time. I don't use the more foul words, though. Like
Spoiler (highlight to view)
cunt, douche, fag, etc.
because they just make you look really bad, and I'm not used to saying those words, either. I'll occasionally drop the F bomb, and soon after it's "shiiiit" because it almost always comes out accidentally. I've replaced it with fudge, when I can, but it doesn't have the same impact when you're in an argument. But, they are just words, and it annoys the hell out of me when people say "watch your language."

I think I cuss more online than I do in real life, and if you've talked to me, you know how little that is. I rarely have the need to do so, I can usually get my point across without it and even when I'm angry, I find less vulgar ways to express it.

No, pretty much never. I think cursing tends to make someone sound less intelligent, especially online. Besides, euphemisms are such fun.

If you do it just the right way, you can totally negate that. I swear all the time. All the time. In fact I used to get in trouble at school because I would use swear words the same way I use other words.
