As the title says, I am currently looking for mangas that feature the main character going from being a normal person to becoming someone of great stature without much, if any input of their own.

I would like the mangas to have a male lead character and be preferably shounen or seinen. Shoujo/josei are fine as well as long as there is a male lead character and it does not feature yaoi/shounen-ai. I am not looking for hentai and I would prefer to have some romance.

My lists are public but don't trust them entirely if you look. Basically; if its on any of my lists (even my wish list), I have read it or am reading it. My online list is not managed nearly as well as the one on my computer.

Thanks in advance

its not seinen or shounen, but try Anatolia story. The main character is a 15 year old girl named yuri who gets brought back to the past to be a sacrifice for a psychopathic queen. the Series is 28(?) volumes long. and its definetly a 'norm to noble' angle. at least in my opinion.

Looks interesting, not exactly what I am looking for but will check it out. Still looking for some that more closely adhere to my original request however.

Again, thanks in advance.

Emma - Main character isn't male, but a worthwhile seinen romance in my opinion.

Zero no Tsukaima - Assuming the manga follows the novels (which from what I've read, it does), this should fit what you're looking for. The main character may not become nobility, but certainly a person of some standard.

Now that I look though, Zero does seem to be in your wishlist.

Hmm...can't really think of rags to riches atm.

But there's Historie which is kind of like the opposite, he started off nobility in the manga, and then went to normality. Though I'm sure he'll jump up in ranks later on...
It's a good manga. smile

Just out of curiosity, why are you interested in a character that gains stature "without much, if any input of their own"? Interestingly, this is quite the opposite of most shounen mangas that emphasize perseverance, hard work, etc. The closest I can think of are male protagonists who are suddenly gifted with special magical powers. Is that what you're looking for?

That is similar I guess, but the reason why I am looking for this is because I just recently finished a book where the main character (an orphan) was thrust into nobility (the lower end anyways) merely because he helped a noble. I did not mean no input of there own but not much if there is.

Thanks for the inputs so far, will look into them.

I forget the exact name but I think the name was Red River , and a normal girl gets brought back to ancient Egypt to. Be sacrificed but is saved and through alot of events she ends up being the concubine if a prince and a the people now think that she is a goddess or is sent by one, which brings up her social status by.... Shounen Oujo, it's quite the unique perspective.

congratulations on reviving a 3 year old thread, posting something that was mentioned before: Anatolia Story and Red River are one and the same...
How do you guys even find these threads? >.<

if xenofixus doesn't protest, I think you can just leave this be...

Haha, funny, but you do know that there is a button that leads straight to the oldest threads? If they were bothersome, then they should be (automatically) locked (or at least not linked to so easily). Plus, the OP seems to have recently signed in; still, I can't say the same about his posting.

Interesting topic, though. I originally wanted to respond to this:

Wrong suggestion. The guy does get lucky(?), but this series has nothing to do with nobility.
