Black Bird i read it for a long time hoping it would get better but it seemed to have lost its point (if it had one, im not too sure anymore -_-)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
now its just a bunch of unnecesary sex. seriously i thought that they couldnt do it for some reason and now suddenly theyre doing it all the time. just pissed me off

Vampire Knight my friends always pushed me towards it but it was just filled with drama that had no purpose, plus Yuuki was indecisive and i hate that

Love In The Mask not sure if its really popular but after about chapter 100 it went totally down the tubes filled with unneeded complications and cliche plot twists trying to drag it out and frustrated me to no end. but even before that the characters reactions were really unrealistic and begging for a drama to develop (and the eyes GOD THE EYES they just dont fit) i sincerely regret reading it that far

I don't really know how to pick popular series but oh well... Let's see.

Special A. It just never had any kind of appeal for me. I tried the manga, tried the anime...it didn't work.

I don't really understand the hype around Vampire Knight. I plan on reading more of if eventually but it's not a genuinely good series at all.

Watashi ni xx Shinasai! This was just genuinely bad. I find most smut series meh but this one especially. I just don't see anything appealing it it at all.

To mind also comes things like Mishounen Produce, Watashi no... Megane-kun, Black Bird and probably a ton of others I already forgot names of.

..while searching for series of this type I don't particularly like, I have come over Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji. Now, I don't hate it...completely...but it just makes me facepalm a bit. It's so...unpleasant, how much most shoujo heroines are obsessed with love and forgetting about actually important stuff in their lives. So mindless. Sigh. So I typically don't like these kinds of series, yet often I still read them hoping there is going to be some serious character development and the heroine will change, the characters grow up. How naive of me... At least this one, while the girl is kinda abused by the guy, there is no playboy smut and being his sexual toy. God, how I hate that.

Also Hwang Mi-Ri's anything.

Second these ones.

Other ones that come to mind: Gakuen Alice, Skip Beat, Kamisama Hajimemashita, Oresama Teacher, Bokura ga Ita, Sukitte Ii Na Yo, Shugo Chara, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, D.N Angel,

I wholeheartedly agree with the Sukitte Ii Na Yo hate. And this isn't some type of backlash on my part, I remember following it when there were only a couple of chapters out because the art was really appealing. I jumped on the bandwagon just as quick as everyone else, but after a couple of volumes (or maybe chapters?) it pretty much hit a dead end for me. I didn't mind how quick their relationship progressed early on, but the fact that the manga-ka had already descended into milking this series for what it's worth territory is what pretty much put me off the series. You can always tell a manga-ka is running out of material when she's reduced to devoting time and chapters to secondary characters in the early stages of the manga. I don't mind smut, in fact, I wish there was more smut in shoujo (lol), but it the sex that happens in the earlier chapters felt out of place. She couldn't have the main characters have sex because it's too early in the relationship, so she contrived to have it occur between other characters (that I honestly couldn't care less about). It felt almost fan-servish and patronizing to be honest.

Black Bird - agreed - (what's with all the love for this series? the art isn't even that great)
Perfect Girl Evolution - wha? This series is still ongoing? People are still reading?

Kaikan Phrase
How it could get that many volumes is beyond me. The art is okay but no more, the mc is... is... *rages* Well, she's too extreme on the emotionally weak part and it seems she like to shout like crazy every time something "happens". Maybe she'll get better in the later volumes that I haven't read yet. The guys make it feel like a standard smut story that shouldn't last for more than 1-5 volumes.

Black Bird
Haven't gotten far in this one but it just feels meh anyways. I'll still read it but it is a low priority read just as Kaikan Phrase. But 17+ volumes of this meh may very well make it quite unappealing.

Vampire Knight
Better than the first two I mentioned but still not that good. The characters feels forced and uninteresting after a while. Also a low priority read but I want to know how it ends.

I actually liked Vampire Knight...Though I'll admit that I got bored in the middle chapters..I HATE Skip Beat and Dengeki Daisy tho. Especially Skip Beat. I think their chins are too long. Also, I don't really like Gakuen Alice... It seemed...weird.

Hmm for me it's most of anything posted in Shojou Beat with the exception of Vampire Knight, Crimson Hero and NANA. I tried to watch see the appeal of Special A but it only reminds me of Kaichou wa Maid-Sama: supernaturally good guy plus tsundere.

In fact, I really can't get into anything made by Watase Yuu and the creator of Full Moon wo Sagashite [can't think of the name ATM] because of same face syndrome.

I actually ended my subscription to Black Bird because the plot is getting repetitive and dull. I wish the author had kept this short like she did her other [really cute] manga, Backstage Prince.

In all, since I am getting more and more in the josei demographic, shojou just doesn't do it for me anymore. It's childish and kind of stupid. There are notable exceptions but the rest is Sturgeon's Law.

Oh? Never thought i would find someone else who didn't like Kaichou wa Maid-sama. It was named here quite a lot, that's a surprise.
The ones i just don't like and can't understand why in heaven they are so popular are:
-Watashi ni XX Shinasai! (Just....she...irritating...cliché...stupid...whatever)
-Black Bird (ughh.)
-Kaichou wa Maid-sama (i don't really hate it, but i find it boring)
-All Shiiba Nana's works (sorry i can't stand nor her art nor her characters, and her stories have to be the most clichés out there).

Kaichou wa Maid-sama was pretty boring, I agree.
[m]Shugo Chara[/m] was all right, but nothing special.
Special A was sometimes mildly amusing, but generally not that great.
Vampire Knight had nice art, and the anime's music was pretty, but I got bored.
Full Moon wo Sagashite was actually pretty boring, too.
Sailor Moon dragged on and on, I feel like. And the villains were kind of boring.
Ouran High School Host Club just ick. It was sometimes funny, in the beginning, but then it fell apart completely.

Kare kano
I tried to read it 3 or 4 times but never could get myself to finish it. Just seems really boring, dry and the arts typical of a Shoujo.

the only shoujo manga I can read is Usotsuki Lily that's cause it feels different from other shoujo mangas even though they are all pretty much to relationship focused for my taste, I've read a few shoujo one-shots here or there but outside of that yea

Vampire Knight -- I liked the beginning, but somewhere it stopped being about the characters and instead became about situations in which the author would like the characters to be.

Suki tte Ii na yo -- I think I liked the first chapter? Then it just became a mess of poor smut and annoying textbook shojo cliches.

Black Bird -- It made up for what it lacked in depth and originality with storytelling. Then that jumped the shark so now it's just bad.

Kimi ni Todoke -- Yeah like everybody said, it gets boring. It's slow and repetitive.

Ouran High School Host Club -- Was never good to begin with.

Fruits Basket -- This also was never good, but I hung onto it for a while hoping something bad would happen to the annoying characters.

... Been a long while since I read these.
