Vampire Knight - it got annoying at some point lol

Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu - too dramatic >.< I can stand Bokura ga Ita but not this one...

This topic was so made for me! ^^; I'm only going to list shoujo titles that I thought I put some serious effort into liking:

The Wallflower
S•A
Skip Beat
The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross (and most Arina Tanemura works)
Nana (This one...it's not that I think it's bad. I like heavy drama but for some reason this series I just can't bring myself to continue.)
Fushigi Yuugi (EVERY Yuu Watase series captures my interest greatly at the beginning but somehow towards the end turns me off completely. *sigh* I don't know why I keep trying.)

There are more but those are probably the most prominent examples.

Is it just me or has Vampire Knight taken a really strange turn? I dunno, the story seems scattered now (from v.11 on) I dislike it.
And it's not just me being bitter about Kaname.

Well, as I said in my response to the discussion on chapter 67 here:

http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=23661&p age=1#post439774

Vampire Knight has finally gone in the direction it was always meant to go. There was plenty of foreshadowing that things were going to turn out this way, but the manga undercut it all by having too much mushiness between Kaname and Yuuki. Doing that made it possible for readers to totally ignore the foreshadowing in favor of the mushiness, if they so chose, which was pretty a pretty lame thing for the mangaka to do. It makes the direction of the series unclear, and jerks the fans around.

(Although, I think some of the blame for the manga's lack of clarity and poor foreshadowing has to be placed on the previous scanlator's shoulders since she was a Kaname apologist and was always seeking to justify his actions in her translator's notes.)

Anyway, yeah, you can add Vampire Knight to my list of popular shoujo I just don't like. I continue to read it because I liked it in the beginning and I have to know how the mangaka is going to resolve everything in the end.

I think Vampire Knight's problem is that the mangaka threw too many balls in the air (plot-wise), but has spent the past year? two years? (since the timeskip) not moving the plot forward and not doing much with character development. If the events of the latest chapter means there will finally be some progress with the characters (especially Yuuki) and the plot, then I'm all for it. Anything is better than what we've been getting so far.

It took me 1 second to figure out the answer - Vampire Knight! I just don't get what is all this hype about.
Also at first i liked Kaichou wa Maid-sama! but lately it is just... boring.
I almost forgot - Love Monster is a total "NO!" for me.

Koukou Debut, Kimi ni Todoke, Kanata Kara- Same reason - they really bored me. But worst of all is -
Love Monster - I tried reading it twice, but it nearly made me tear my hair out. The main character is so inexplicably stupid. (And I usually have a high tolerance for this sort of stuff.)

Vampire Knight - When Zero ate his twin brother, I stopped. Not 'cuz it was gross. I was pissed off. I LIKED THAT DUDEEEE. And then Kaname = brother, etc, I just...stopped caring enough to check random chapters.

Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! started out nice, and then...PFT, just same ol' same ol', and I don't see how it's interesting, unique, etc...

Five is a popular shoujo too right?
Nana
Tanemura Arina's new work. The one with that moon princess or something. Bleh. Gentlemen's Alliance also. End was just....WTFAKKU CHOOSE!!! Liked seeing the side character's get together though.
Itazura no Kiss.
Hot Gimmick
Midnight Secretary
Works by Hwang Mi Ri, and her former assistant lady...
Dazzle - uh...just...there was an underlying plot underneath all that?

Uwasa no Midori-kun!! - Just...just...ugh. I like Suki desu Suzuki-kun!!, but ONLY for the somewhat neglected side couple...

I stopped paying attention to Host Club, and just skipped to the end. Oh. Duh. They end up together. How expected.

DN Angel - JUST BECAUSE OF THE HIATUS'S AND HIATUS'S AND HIATUS'S

Shugo Chara - SPARKLE ABUSE, Amu is a tsundere/kuudere, yeah, whatevs...and it totally pissed me off when Amu said something like..."there must be a way for a girl to fight..." when she was talking about how boys fight and stuff like that...it had potential, and then turned way little kiddy...

Fall in love like a comic - ...didn't even bother. Just PASS.

Watashi ni XXX Shinasai or something like that - totally obvious who she'll end up with. Total drama is unnecessary. Developments are cheesy/corny.

La Corda...something - Not my type of story. Eh.

Usually, when I start a series, I'll try to end it; it's just my personality, I try to give everything a chance and then criticize it or whatnot. Besides, shoujos and cliches are two inseparatable beings. Some series, however, I've never finished- either I really didn't like it, or I'm planning to read it in bulk, because it's just not worth anticipating a whole month for a chapter...

Vampire Knight - I stuck with it until volume 12-ish. Dropped it after that. The story digressed too much and basically zero character development- I didn't see the reason to wait every month for a chapter. I might consider reading it in bulk when it's complete. Might.
Kaichou was Maid-Sama - I gave up after the first ten chapters. It got a bit too obvious how the story was going to end, and I decided to end it before I went "I KNEW THIS WAS GONNA HAPPEN."
Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu - Read the first 5 chapters. I...just didn't like it. No specific reason, it just wasn't my type of shoujo.
Five - I'll be honest, I liked this series at first. But then after the thirty-something chapter, I didn't really see the point in reading the slice-of-life chapter for what, the 30th time again.

I don't really like to start reading harlems in the first place. The only shoujo harlem I ever really finished was Ouran High School Host Club. Because...well, Tamaki's cute. I'm sorry. I said it. I think that man's friggin' adorable. There.
