Hmm.. Let's try some popularity contest.. Although all the heroes listed above are great on their own way/s, yet we can't still deny that they have their own skills and strengths that make them the best among the rest.. now let the match begin.... Let's have 5 rounds of fight.. each round would last for 3 weeks, until on the 5th round, there's only 5 character's remaining..
Let the match begin...

TB is by far the best (Skadi+BoT FTW), but you guys prolly
don't have the talent to play it. That's why
you should stick to your Brood, Luna, Clinkz,
Riki, Lion, Mirana and Axe.

ES and Necro are nice too.

Grats to those who can play Furi without
that lame Dagon.

yeah... but still it depends upon the talent of the player.. if he's a noob after playing for 2-5 years, better no tplay at all..

TB is good, i agree with you mate, but never underestimate Slardaar. Stygian,Assault,Burize, simple Treads...and let ur imagination. But want to play it w/o so expensive starting gear? try bracers, treads and a hyper...Also Troll is supreme late game hero. I believe this poll is a bit unfair though, we should at least suggest 3 players if not 5...as it is u r looking for Top 5... every hero has his + and -...
Anyway...if i had to really cut it down to 1 Hero AT ENDING with a really good start - w/o extreme ganging/focus etc then i'd say SG.

Or just play PL or some other
hero in need of nerfing. Though, noobs
can't even play it although it's at least
as imba in the endgame as Mort.

PS. Mort is a noob hero.

Troll is a lot more enjoyable now that they
nerfed the bash.

I actually don't have a favorite, even if the game is -ap I always just -random or let teammates pick for me...

I'm indecisive in Heroes and adapt to who I get...telling me to pick a fav means asking me who's easiest to use and therefore obviously would be noob heroes or imba heroes as they're made that way.

Silencer...my first and most favorite hero, an awesome DPSer, ganker, farmer, pusher, he becomes any type you want ( that's what i'm used to), and really a fearsome hindrance to spellcasters... item build ? it depends....

Only nublets don't use -random. It's a win-win situation,
since you get more cash. It can only be bad if you
suck and can only play one hero.
I usually play -AR, but if there
is only -ap, then I always -random.
Though, -CM is by far the best mode, since noobs
and leavers usually stay away from it.

Although I rarely play Silencer, Curse of the Silent is
a wonderful start spell if there's such heroes as ES
or PL starting on the same lane.

Always preferred -ar, never tried -cm yet, sadly almost everyone prefers -ap here with the excuse of "being fair"

And the extra cash at the beginning helps, might not be much but at level 1, 500 gold can tip the scales a bit in NOT getting killed and getting first blood.

You should accuse them of being n00bs.
-AP is not any less or more fair than -AR.
The probability to get any hero is as big to everyone. '<'
Their fault if they haven't played WD or Krobe before and
that is solely due to the fact that they always picked the
same hero via -AP.

Well, i think Curse is a bit extraneous to a good Silencer.
It's a fairly powerful spell early game for lane control (toward some heroes, esp N'aix laugh ) but it just slows you down too much from achieving a powerful Glaive attack, and , well, i only used it for fun.Cause you're giving up a lot of stat points to harass your enemy slightly, and he may simply stay away from you, and waiting to smash you up later.
Normally, Glaive harassment achieves better results HP-wise and never becomes useless.

Curse of The Silence is not bad, take it 1 lvl test ur opponent if he is a total noob or not and adjust ur playstyle - stats or passive-. As for item build, depends on ur opponents.

I totally agree with you here. IMO Curse is pretty much a waste even against low mana heroes. You can pretty much negate the damage done with Tangos/Salves/Claritys. On the other hand, Glaive harassing doesnt take as much mana, there is hardly a CD, and its castable range is his attack range, as long as he cast it, they can't get away unless it misses. Oh yes, Curse isn't that good on a smart ES, Enchant Totem level 1 is 50 mana cost if I'm not mistaken, and if he picks up a RoB or Arcane Ring first item, your Curse is pretty much screwed.

Now back to the topic, IMO ALL heroes are good. My favorite? I don't have one since they are all pretty easy to use and I can adapt to mostly any situation with them. Very dependent on the hero lineups in a game, but if I had to pick one, it would be an Intel hero, such as Ogre, Rhasta, or Invoker. Ogre is pretty fun because all you can rely on is luck, also that he's a major support class with B-lust and Guinsoo. Rhasta is the same but even better. Duel Hex and Shackles can kill any hero 1v1 and can break lanes very easily once hes 6, and Invoker. He's just awesome if you know how to spell swap. Been one of my main heroes for a while. Early-game Meteor for farming to Mid-game Summons and Blast. Then Late-game he is all support since you can cycle all his spells and make it that his CDs are always back up. If you know what I mean't by that anyway. So yea, disables rule the game. Any strong hero wouldn't stand a chance. Well, sorry for the long post, it'll be annoying to read. none

Mamsmilk is calling other people noobs, but he plays TB, lol ... TB is crazy early game, he can stand in one lane until lvl 10 without heal, if you know how to play. Ulti is really nice too for saving and killing ppl Best hero in game is slardar (SG) if it's 1on1, especially if they made trolls bash worse. Haven't played in a while though so i don't know what they changed with troll. other really good heroes include abaddon for saving ppl and back up, chaos knight really good, u die a few times but kills lots and help other kill lots, magina of c if vs a lot of int and agil, invoker, if you know how to use the spells, dk farms like s**t, omniknight, do you need to say more?... it's really hard to say whose the best hero, many heroes with area ultis can be good if used well, (rooftrellen+Crystal m, for example). oh and never forget which ever team has rhasta always wins, except if the other team can kill him 5 times within the first 20 minutes and he gets no kills.

oh, yeah, on the subject of whats the best mode, it doesn't matter, its always the same for everybody, best players still win 99% of the time. AR can be a bitch though, and Ap can be a bitch if anybody picks goblin techies (only hero that should be entirely removed from game, never seen anybody be very useful with techies in an actual game, which does not include public games).
