I've always loved the geisha/maiko culture. Are there any manga I should check out that have this as a central theme?

I've read Mademoiselle Butterfly. Er, it sorta fits.

She leaves that life before she gets into it, honestly.

It's still a good read, though.

If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

From a bumper sticker I like:
"If you're gonna ride my ass, at least pull my hair."

I haven't read the manga but seen the movie adaptation,
Spoiler (highlight to view)
but I think it's not really a geisha/maiko manga but they're more like courtesans or high-profile prostitutes.
