The ending just didn't sit right with me...I wanted those two to get together but the way they ended it; asking why she likes him, near the last page?

Wow, the ending was very abrupt.
I like how the author tried to explain what happened to the other people, I just wished it portrayed the two's relationship a lot longer.

It was good.
Spoiler (highlight to view) They tried to pull a Suzuka for a moment there...
The relationship could have went longer longer, but I'm satisfied that they didn't try to prolong it to hell like Pastel...
So an approval for me.

yeah, it was a good ending, felt like it fit, the series went on long enough and the timing seemed to be right, nothing sensational though

It was good, very right, but it seemed a bit rushed. It would've been better if they added an extra chapter to show them falling in love again. Just seemed like she came back suddenly, they lived together, and boom it ends

I enjoyed the series quite a bit, despite the flaws. I think it helps that I'm old enough to have had RL experience with some of this sort of thing, and as I guy, I know how messed up we can get between love and sex. However, the ending was a disappointment. As others have pointed out, it was way too abrupt. But for me, it was that of all people, he got back together with SAE!!! Re-read the first part of the story--Sae is a total narcissist who doesn't care what she does to others as long as she satisfies herself. Once she saw Sone was heading into a warm and fulfilling relationship with the wonderful Miki, she used her charisma and personality to all but force him into screwing her "or I'll *sob sob* kill myself!" Once this destroys his relationship with Miki, Sae is satisfied and takes off with another guy, leaving Sone twisting in the wind. If I was him I'd have stabbed the bitch the next time I saw her. What happened between him and Ami was nice, as despite the sadness, they both grew up a lot. As for that terrifying predatory black widow Nakazawa...no wonder she was sleeping with Sae--talk about cobra and mongoose! So in the end, I couldn't buy that Sone would accept Sae back when pretty much most of the series is about the love and relationship death spiral she sent him into.

Manji88 I actually do understand where you're coming from, though the reason I think the ending pair fits is because Takashi, after so many failed relationships, has pretty much given up, and was reluctantly forced into renewing his old relationship with Sae, who just couldn't get over him. It's more of a concilatory/"i give up" kind of relationship. Who knows if it will last, but by the end of the manga, Takashi was already 26 years old (I believe), and he probably figured he might as well go for it.
I didn't like Sae at the beginning either, but after she left and seeing Takashi mature during that time away, and also seeing Sae change, I felt that it was an appropriate end, and I was still overall satisfied by the manga's story and conclusion.

I see how you could interpret Sae's actions that way, Manji88, but I think his first relationship with Sae was the deepest he had in the entire series. My favourite relationship is, of course, the one with Mizuhara [the MILF], but it seemed to me that his relationship with Sae ended pretty much through a mixture of both misunderstanding the other and bad luck and thus was quite tragic.
My problem with this series is that the passing of time was extremely hard to follow. The last two volumes especially when he all of a sudden graduates. From what it said about Ami at the end, I m inferring that it was three years between her moving away and the end of the series, i didn't grasp that that much time passed at all.
Really a lot of things were sudden in this series. At times that was a good thing, though.
