Has anyone else seen this movie yet? Just got back from seeing it 2 hours ago, and it was real good.

From the reviews, it was apparantly a solid movie.

I don't watch movies nowadays though,
so I'm probably not going to see it.

I went with two friends the weekend it came out (simply because we wanted to see it and it was in theaters). The movie finished, and I turned to my one friend and said "I want more." She answered "I want to see it again." My other friend didn't say much until the next day when she informed me we were going to see it again. It was a good movie and I enjoyed it, but I see where some of the hard-core Star Trek fans aren't too happy over it.

I'll see it a second time next weekend, which is very rare to me.

Cinema is really expensive nowadays, so I can only effort 2-3 movies per year and none of them twice. But I enjoyed this one so much that I decided to see it again. I haven't done this since over 10 years but this is one of these movies that just come better on big screen. Honestly, I wasn't entertained by a movie like this in a long time.

And no, I have a lot of negative critique to say about this movie which I don't even want to start discussing here. I'm a fan of the original series and this reboot really screws with some stuff in an inexcusable way (and has some standalone flaws by itself) but I decided to take it as what it is: an alternate universe and a fresh start.

So everything is possible, nothing is really wrong, just take it and enjoy it. For trekkies and non-trekkies a really wonderful evening in cinema. Though, hobby physicians should disable the logical thinking part of their brain for two hours. It's better, believe me >.>

Not a perfect movie but a lot of fun and greatly entertaining. Very recommended.

The actors really studied their characters and had the mannerisms dead-on. I wasn't sure how well Carl Urban was going to be as McCoy, but it really worked in the movie. It was well-done and a thoroughly enjoyable movie.

You don't need to have seen any of the prior movies or TV series to enjoy this one, although there are references which Star Trek fans will enjoy seeing. Though I do admit that the "timeline" of this movie will likely irk some of the die-hard fans. It's still an excellent movie.

I'll be buying this one when it comes out on DVD, and I don't own any of the other ST movies.

I think I expected too much. To me the plot wasn't that interesting, the villan was bad and the whole
Spoiler (highlight to view)
time travel
was so cliche.

But the characters were really great, just as the should be.

Yeah, my dad and my friend were talking about that after the movie. But they said that they liked it anyway because the movie didn't just come out and say "Yeah, this takes place in an alternate timeline.", but that in the movie they had shown and explained in detail how it became an alternate timeline.

oh hell ya this movie rocked!!

My father and i are both big fans and i have followed the sieres most of my concious life

Spoiler (highlight to view)
ya the time stuff was is a little played out but i think the ending of that played out trick was a interesting take. Mostly in how they did not actually go back in time AGAIN to fix the timeline lol they ALWAYS go back and fix it

i watched this movie back to back twice and as someone said above - I NEVER do that - the movie finished and i just had to watch the beginning again - i never go to theaters because they are a rip off but i really want to see it in IMAX now!!!

Great movie - there better be more!!!!!! biggrin

yeah me too.
I kinda like spock but my points for him kinda dropped after seeing him all lovey-dovey with Uhura. Kirk is too pretty for my liking, somehow I couldnt help seeing him as Zac efron.
