Gui doesn't even know she's a girl. And he only knows her in the game. Remember - they went on a date in real life and he didn't feel anything. He loves the idea of her is all. And I agree with whoever said that his love feels super fake. So I definitely choose Wicked.

One could say the same about Wicked. Wicked loves Feng Lan, but felt nothing for Prince until he realized he's Feng Lan. At which point he started treating him as a girl ("don't go drinking with guys", "don't sleep out in the open", etc).

Furthermore, (more clearly in the novel) Feng Lan herself said that she feels restricted when she's a girl, and can be herself as a "guy". Going by that, Gui loves Feng Lan's real self while Wicked loves the Feng Lan who unwillingly tries to abide by society's standards of a girl.

Games are great and all that, but there's no substitute for knowing someone in the real world. As far as I'm concerned, Gui's love doesn't count for anything until he's loved her in real life.

Also, of course Wicked didn't love her at first as a guy. Can you honestly expect most men who self-identify as straight to be able to see a guy the same way they might see a girl? Gui, on the other hand also said he was straight, so when he met with her in the real world, as a girl, he should have been able to look at her as a potential love interest, without the barrier that our perceptions of who we can love creates. In other words, Wicked has an excuse. Gui doesn't.

In other words, Wicked has an excuse. Gui doesn't.

Remember that Second Life is a virtual reality game that has 99% realism as its selling point. Yes, it's a game, but they're not sitting behind the anonymous computer screens that this era has. There may be no substitute for knowing a person's RL self, but what does that matter if the RL self is suppressed and the in-game self is "real"?

As you say, Wicked, self-identified as straight, is normal for not falling in love with Prince, but Gui, self-identified as straight, actually fell in love with Prince despite "his" gender. Also, as I said before, Feng Lan is her true self in-game but hides it in RL. That is why it's reasonable for Gui to not recognize the carefree traits that the female Feng Lan suppresses in RL, but a bit questionable for Wicked, who has known her for years and thus already knows Feng Lan's true self, to feel nothing resembling love towards the male Prince he interacted with in-game.

As for RL, there has hardly been any interaction between student Feng Lan and professor Gui. It's unreasonable to expect Gui to fall in love with Feng Lan when the most they've done is have a short chat about Prince over lunch. Furthermore, he is a teacher and she is a student - he can't just go around looking at his female students as potential love interests. And that's not even mentioning the fact that he's in love with Prince, so why even look at girls as potential love interests in the first place?

But I digress. My main point is that Wicked sees Feng Lan as a girl, and if she was male, he would not love him. Gui sees Prince as a person, and male or female, Gui would love him all the same. This is particularly important because Feng Lan's personality is more "male" than "female". If she got together with Wicked, he would only continue restricting her "true self", nagging her when she doesn't act ladylike, as opposed to Gui, who loves her as she is.

I was totally all for Wicked until he started to treat her like a girl in game. Ugh. Was that not her whole reason for becoming a guy in the game in the first place? Because she didn't want to be treated like a girl? Yeah she used to follow him around like a mooching puppy, but she wanted to become stronger than that, and did. It annoys me to no end when he acts so protective and possessive over her when she can obviously handle most things herself. It just goes to show that he's hung up on the person she used to be and doesn't really accept she's changed.

Plus, I really don't understand what is so unbelievable about Gui's feelings just because it's in game. How many HOURS a day do you think they spend playing this thing? I mean the majority of their time was spent together. And I really did think his back story was cute, and after that I found the way he acted around Prince to be a lot cuter as well. bigrazz Also the whole I love you despite your gender speech was adorable. Not to mention, the few instances when he is serious, you can totally tell his feelings are real. Go Gui! biggrin

i like Gui better because he fell in love with Prince and didnt care about his/her gender. Wicked only started to love Prince when he realized who it was.

Wicked because he understands *Xiao Lan*, Wicked loves her and wants to protect her anyway he can and do **anything he could do for her**
*Xiao Lan*-dont know if this is how you spell her name
**anything he could do for her**-
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
remember the time when Wicked helped *Xiao Lan* in the game, as when he told her how to use the bathroom. . . X_X

Gui, because even if he pretended to like Prince in the first place; he began to love him! He also lets him/her do anything he/she wants and he would be by her side throughout it all! For everyone that says about the date in RL and that Gui didn't feel anything or that he only knows her in the game; he's spent time with her and got to know her personality! He knows how she is and basically what she wouldn't act like in RL. He knows the true Xiao Lan/Prince!

Wicked seems to protective and Prince/Xiao Lan only thinks of him as a big brother... It would never work out between them on Xiao Lan's side. He also doesn't get that she doesn't want to be treated like a frail girl all of the time! Wicked also doesn't really show any feelings for "Prince" as opposed to Xiao Lan even though they're the same person.

Personally, I love both of the guys. Gui does fit with Prince/Xiao Lan; he gets what she wants and he gets her as herself. Wicked just needs to move on and find someone he likes that will help him get rid of any lingering feelings. He could try to date Ice Phoenix or someone that gets how he feels and all.

And lol... I posted for this like last year.... My opinion sure changed... o--o

I'm going with Gui.
At first, I really only wanted Gui and Xiao Lan because it looked like the manga was going for them...
But then you find out the truth about how Gui really feels about her, and I thought that's great. Despite thinking her gender is actually male, he still loved her for what she really is in the game.
I love that he's not fazed by her gender in the game at all. He still loves her anyway. That's true love.
Although he has no idea she's just really close by, I'd like to see how he'd react after he finds out. LOL

I like both of them. At first I thought Wicked ist better, because Gui is way to old, but then I went on the Homepage of the Scanlators "OddSquad" and found out that Wicked is only one year younger than Gui, so I hope that one of them starts to like another one, even if it wouldbe a bit lonely, cause I like Love triangels eyes But well, I don't want one of these Guys to be unhappy smile

I like both of them, Gui is hilarious and willing to do just everything, but my vote goes for Wicked because of his unrequited love for Prince.
And in the end, i'm fine with bo guys even if Feng Lan already chose who she'll like.
