Anybody has any experience about reading scanlated manga on mobile phones? Some days ago I was in Singapore on the underground train and watched for a while a guy reading Veritas on his Iphone (or maybe fake iphone?).
Well, to make it short, I'd like to know which mobile phone could be better to buy for reading comics (screen, weight, size, image viewer program and so on)
Thanks

Haha. Well, if you have the right phone, it's no problem at all. I'm using an iPod touch at the moment, (so iPhone would be similar) and reading manga, watching anime, surfing the web, it's no problem at all. You can just zoom in and stuff if it's too small. I can easily get used to it. This is much faster than my crap computer XD

I agree, the iPod touch is pretty good for reading manga when I can't get on the computer. I also use the PSP's browser as a backup for the iPod.

I also use the iTouch for reading manga. Comes in handy when you have nothing to do at a foreign location for a few hours.

What a coincidence! I was just browsing the forums seeing if there was any interest in this
I wrote a comic reader specifically designed to read comics and manga on the small screen which works by finding the text near where you press and poping it up to a readable size
Check out the video on my site: http://comicreader.mobi
Let me know if you have any comments or questions

@people using iPod touch: are u using any particular image viewer? or the standard one in the iPod is good enough? u have to look at the pages fitting to sceen size or is it possible to see them at actual size and scrolling down the page?
@comicreadermobi: your comic reader is available on which phones? i am still deciding which one could be better (iPhone, Nokia N97, PalmPre, HTC touch HD). And same question as above, fit to page or actual size possible? I also tried to DL your desktop reader but i got a error everytime i try to install it.
Thanks a lot everyone

Windows Mobile and the iphone. I'm not sure what the Nokia N97 is...
it fits to width, or on the iphone you can zoom in with the pinch button, on windows mobile you can toggle between fit and actual size.
As far as the desktop version, do you have .NET 2.0 installed?
Edit: I think the HTC touch HD would probably be the best choice for reading manga. The text would come out extremely clear on the high res screen

Well I'm just using the standard iPod viewer, and it works fine for me. As for the page fitting, mine fits the page like it does on the computer, but it's just small to really read anything on a site like this with lots of words If you pinch the screen, you can zoom in acording to your liking. Then you scroll around and stuff.

If not reading on pc,I mainly read on my android handset using an app called 'Perfect Viewer'. Reading on phones is comfortable when you get used to it.

I'm sorry, but your pricing is simply ridiculous. What's more, you need a jailbroken iDevice. The regular App Store offers many quality viewers for much less. Even if you claim you can get file management via jailbreaking (cos Apple are f*ckers and don't allow that in iOS, I know), the Cydia offers quite a few reader options for jaibroken devices that are cheaper as well. Most decent reader apps on iOS and Android are between $0.99 - $3.99, and you can probably get free versions for most of them if you don't mind ads. I'm sure you have some zomgfantastic feature or whatever, but at the end of the day its just manga. Why would someone pay more than a manga's worth of money for a reader.
For desktops, again, it's crazy expensive when most people can get full-featured readers for free. Comix (Linux/BSD/*nix) is the best reader I've used and it costs nothing. Yours might might be better, but I doubt it's $10 better.
