 Hi,

I would like to know what you think about Kurumi the "heroine". Does anybody understand her motives?

In all honesty I think she is despicable. She is not only the - in the manga world imo too common - weak girl who needs to be protected, noo she even lets her "loved one" rape her several times etc. and is still in love with him !?
And what's with that ridiculous suicide attempt? (seriously, I laughed when I read this part)

Really, I don't get it.Until now I haven't finished the series, but I'm continuosly wondering what the morale of the story should be. "True love can forgive everything" or what?

I'm sure the morale of the story is along the lines of "shinjo mayu's a bloody awful authour and you shouldn't read her works"

LOL, you have a point there. Actually I was shocked, when I saw that the author was a woman. When I saw the continuous rape scenes I thought that's really "cruel" from the (male) author, but omg the author is a woman herself? What woman likes to tell rape stories?

All her other works are kinda similar... even those cliches in other popular 'shoujo smut' mangas like Love monster, Hot gimmick etc etc.. women are like sex objects for 'bishies' and these type of heroins would either 'crave for the bishounen's body' (EW), act all forgiving and falls in love. You should check out the degree of 'physical abuse' in Hot blooded woman (There's this BISHIE who abuse this so-called 'tough heroin' to the extent of pushing the main girl off a building and a moving truck...even hiring a group of thugs to Gang-rape the heroine!!) ..and yea, surprisingly this manwha has loads of 'good reviews'. none

I wonder how these female mangakas create such stupid...degrading plot! and worst! This type of genre are made for GIRLS! mad

 UGH.

BAD BAD MEMORIES.

I wrote a strongly-worded review about this POS that doesn't even deserve to be acknowledged as a manga back in Jan 2008.

My opinion hasn't changed.

Why hasn't Hakuron been castrated? And WTF @ fail heroines.

She's the worst I've seen yet.

This manga makes Love Monster & all Shinjo mangas look like masterpieces.

 The rape thing isn't new to me but the heroine kinda got on my nerves because her character was extremely cliche with her crying and running away. I don't care that she chose to stay with the guy but holly jizz she was weak! Hate to say it but I kinda relate, just a tiny bit. Still like the manga though.. xD

Don't be too hard on Kurumi. Yes, she starts off as a weak character, but she is weak and innocent. Once Hakuron starts raping her, Kurumi acts the way she does because she is a victim of abuse.

Having known RL victims of abusive relationships, I couldn't finish this manga because it follows the classic signs. If you don't know much about abuse, check out WebMD.com's article on why victims stay with their abusers. Kurumi's self-loathing, feeling that she deserves to be raped, and acceptance of the situation are all symptoms of abuse. As soon as Kurumi started saying "Yes, sir" and acting like the maid, I wanted to cry because that is almost exactly what happened to an abuse survivor who I know personally. And, that woman was NOT a weak woman; she was young when she got married, and then her husband isolated her from society, threatened her and punished her when she ran away. (Sound familiar?)

This is what abuse does even to strong-minded women who are abused repeatedly. Unfortunately, in Western culture, we have a tendency to victimize the victim by blaming them for not getting out of the relationship. Admittedly, before meeting abuse survivors, I never understood how people could put up with abuse, but a lot of it has to do with having their options limited and not seeing a way to get out permanently. It's the same with Kurumi, which is why she deserves pity, not contempt.
