Do you ever feel jealous when you read manga and you see two characters have sex or make out passionately? Like, out of love and all....

I'm the very conservative and careful type, but I can't help but yearn to have sex with someone when I read yaoi bigrazz

No, they're fictional characters. I'm mostly reading for the "aww they kissed" moments anyway (or damn, why did they kiss moments).

Real life people cause different emotions-usually annoyance at the pda, but sometimes jealousy when I'm interested in one of the people involved.

I don't think that's jealousy. I read yaoi and smut and romance as escapism 'cause I can't do any of it in real life (crazy strict religious practices 'til marriage) but yeah not getting jealous of a drawing just 'cause the lines are getting it on.

My advice: read guro, bondage and rape hentai instead. Then you probably won't want to have sex anymore and can keep your ideal "conservative" lifestyle. laugh

*shudder* That would've done it for me, for sure.

But what if you like reading the freaky stuff just to say you've read everything? Plus if she's a yaoi fangirl, she's probably read tons of bondage and non-con.

Yeah sometimes I think like "I wish I had someone to do that with..."

I actually don't like that kind of stuff. Yaoi is nothing compared with hentai. And in yaoi there's no women involved unless you count those yaoi as flat-chested futa (mostly they don't even show that it's really a futa). But if she's tried and likes those. I have nothing to say.

Liria is also a yaoi fan and she obviously knows that I was suggesting a good way to release her from the delusion.

I wasn't a yaoi fan back when I wasn't dating; that's only been the last year. And while bondage might have been OK (because I've always been like that), rape and guro and bara certainly would've been a turn off back then for me. That's how I was thinking about it.

I'd say bondage and rape hentai are much worse than bara. A lot of bondage situations in hentai are not like those you see in yaoi or bara. And don't forget they are all performed on women.

I don't feel jealous...I feel happy because the love in the manga (that I read) is so pure and innocent. I don't know about the hardcore stuff...I prefer platonic love.

Your quite biased I must say. I'm not much for femdom, but it is certainly around. Plus there is yaoi out there that are pretty extreme, bondage, scat, and others.

Bondage, etc yaoi don't usually have the same "look" as hentai. Sure, whatever genre that works for the OP, as long as it makes her not jealous. IMO those that performed on women might work better than extreme yaoi for the OP (unless... you know) because even if it's yaoi, she will probably be jealous of the seme. laugh

I think we're getting away from the point of the thread. =)

I can't swear to how I would feel, because I didn't read manga when I was a teen. However, I can well imagine that I would wish I had someone to share those feelings and experiences with. I was like that when reading teen novels, so I can't imagine manga would've been different in that regard.

Hm....okay, yeah extreme stuff is a bit of a turn off. I remember reading Mai-chan no Nichijou half a year ago and then finding myself trying to stay away from anything past PG-13 for a while.....Then I got over it and read it a second time and realized it wasn't actually that bad :/

But still, I see people making out with their tongues and just wish i could do it too. (This from someone who hasn't been kissed yet >_<)
