Hello everyone. I just finished what exists of Me and the Devil Blues, and I was really impressed by the depiction of racial tension. I don't see it too often in manga, but I was hoping to find more.

So, does anyone know of manga that deals with tension between different races or cultures? I've read a few manga that deal with fanciful race relations, such as Safe Again Today (Aliens and Humans) and Full Metal Alchemist (Amestrians and Ishbalans), but I'm much more interested in realistic depictions.

If there is nothing else, I'll look into fantasy type manga, but I'd love to read some realistic stories. Thanks!

I'll list everything I think could be interesting even if not properly racial.

Realistic setting:
Historie Barbarian/Greek probably the best example I can give you.
Gunslinger Girl North/South Italy, another excellent manga, only minus is that it's not a racial question, more a social/political one and it doesn't really touch the main chars, it's more in the background. Anyway it's a manga I always highly suggest.

Fantasy setting (in a loose order of fitting):
Pluto Robot/Human (seconded)
Vampire Juujikai Half Vampire/Human, quite relevant even if it's not the main point of the story.
Seikai no Monshou Abh/Human (anime a lot better than manga), minus is that it's more between the main guy and Lafiel than with an entire race.
Dance in the Vampire Bund Vampire/Human, maybe too early to tell, worthy to check though.
Elfen Lied Diclonius/Human, again same minus than Seikai no Monshou.
Ookami to Koushinryou Human/Goddess, more a religious question though. Again involving only one person.
Ares maybe
Claymore maybe

Most of these ones are more "inspired" by you putting FMA in your first post, otherwise I'd probably only listed the first two.

Cesare -- Italian/Spanish/French
Hikaru no Go -- Japanese/Korean
Ichi the Killer -- Japanese/Chinese
Jiraishin -- Japanese/American
Kuroshitsuji -- British/Indian
Majo -- British/Arab
Monster -- German/various other races
One Outs -- Japanese/American
Voyeur -- Japanese/African-American

But I felt a little uncomfortable with the racial stereotyping in these. Perhaps the mangas sought to portray realistic racial tension, but they ended up being somewhat racist themselves, probably not on purpose. They are all well-crafted mangas, though.
