About 95% of the smut I've read has been completely and totally stupid, and I ended up laughing at stuff that probably wasn't even supposed to be funny laugh . I did like Midnight Secretary though. Oh, and Chou yo Hana yo. It was pure crack. Completely ridiculous, but I laughed my @$$ off reading it though. That series is SO not to be taken seriously.

Other than those two series, I've found that smut mangas aren't really to my liking no

Try other Yoshihara Yuki's works, for example: Mermaid Prince, Aisuru Hito, and Itadakimasu. The one you mentioned is not my thing though.

I've read them all. I liked all of them except for Aisuru Hito-- which I stopped reading after only a few chapters because I couldn't get with the bouncing from brother to brother thing confused .

I say no for me.

Probably because of the ones I've read that contain smut, it seems to serve no other purpose besides just being there. Also, it usually tends to take away from the story and characters to the point where I just avoid it.

That's one of the reasons that make it funny. Some people just like bouncing and Yoshihara actually handled it in a humorous way. I am surprised that so many people can't see past that small thing. Not many female-oriented manga are brave enough to be like that.

I usually don't care one way or another. I'll read with or without. Sometimes, I'm in a "pure" romance mood and don't want any and sometimes I really, really want some good smut (like, right now!).

If it's not "pure" romance, it isn't necessarily smut. It can be "mature" without smut.

I'm just not one for love triangles. Never have been-- especially ones involving siblings (comedy or not). Going between brothers or sisters is kinda not a simple thing for me, actually. Humorous or not, they just irk me. Can't help it *shrug* I'm not knocking whether or not other people like the bouncing back and forth thing. That's just not my thing-- whether the leading character is male or female no

I like all of Yoshihara's work except for that one though.

I'm all for smut, especially in things that are more josei than shojo. For me, most modern young adult/adult relationships are going to realistic include some sexy times. (Granted shojo/josei isn't always that realistic but still). Smut doesn't have to mean a lack of romance and I think sometimes it's pretty damn romantic! laugh

I only find it annoying when it's overly flowery or there is tons of crying (!!!) for no reason or just plain badly drawn. I'm a fan of Enjouji Maki (Private Prince, yay faaace) and I was quite sad when Midnight Secretary was over. Thankfully, Ohmu Tomu has some other great (some of them smutty) series!
