I gotta admit, I love the manga, but I hate the scanlating group. Seriously, I dont have any right to complain but still Janimes.. dead

1. You have to register to get on their site, 2. all pages are ugly as hell. 3. Font is probably worst i ever have seen.

Yeh im tired and whiny, I expect flames or locked topic when I get back. But is anyone else unsatisfied by the job Janimes has done? Has anyone seen c4 or c5?

/end whining

Janimes has said his or her scanslation group is a "What you see is what you get". And there's a bit of explanation at http://www.janimes.com/lore/article.php?id=009 concerning the quality of the scanslation. I think the only thing that requires registration is the forum, as the rest of the site is visible to the public as far as I know. Registering isn't fun, but I guess the site owner wants more privacy, although forums (especially when it's at most just to "check" or look around) that can't be viewed by the public are somewhat rare, I guess?

And I guess if someone was disgruntled enough, they could version 2 of the manga scanslation even if that's "taking each other work/project/fanbase". *shrugs* But I haven't read this manga so if I get around to it, maybe I'll be sighing and disgruntled at another time. none shy

You know that JanimeS has 1 staff member, right? Well, basically one...Anyways, that article that Takiko posted pretty much sums it up. Different groups have different policies. Besides, JanimeS does series that aren't done by other groups most of the time, and they have "updates" basically every day. You're the reader, so why do you complain? If anything, go to Snow Kiss Scanlations and complain to them to go faster, but they won't like it either. One thing about scanlating is that it's free, and the customer (not in the paying sense) IS NOT always right.

(And yes, I'm a little pissed since I've scanlated plenty of stuff myself)

Also the chapter updates for Manga Updates posted by Jamine are not the actual chapters as far as I believe because the other groups three chapters is farther ahead than the seven Jamine chapters.

That is correct. JanimeS works with "updates" rather than actual chapters. It's explained on their group info page here under the "notes" section

Has Snow Kiss dropped the series or are they just taking a really long time? they are labeled as "inactive" for not releasing anything for a while

the JanimeS translation has a lot of problems as others have said, but it's a lot better than nothing right?

sorry but I just started this series a couple days ago and am not up on all this stuff going on

exactly, plus we can't expect beautiful scanlations when they release so fast, and I'm greatful that JanimeS even bothered to do superior (it's a great story!). Plus, considering the scanlators that do wonderful jobs can take weeks, months and even years with each releases, I for one will not complain about presentation. (not that I'm any less grateful to the scanlators who do such wonderful work with their projects!).

*shrugs* it's about speed vs. presentation I guess. some prefer one more than the other.
