Hey everyone!
Right now, I'm looking for a romantic manga and I was hoping that you guys can help me with some suggestions.
Please suggest that isn't Ichigo 100% or Skip Beat! or the other mangas that everyone suggests, I want to find something that no one really talks about anymore or is really good, but is really under appreciated.
I'm okay with pretty much anything except for yaoi... because it scares me... no offense to gay people, but I don't roll that way.
Thanks in advance! smile wink grin

I will help if you have public lists. Otherwise, you could give us a few examples of mangas you liked and consider romantic. So that we can recommend something similar.

I would recommend:
Emma and it's sequel
Blood Alone
Natsu no Zenjitsu
Honey and Clover (though I don't consider it romantic)
Mademoiselle Butterfly
Hoshi no Koe

But they are pretty well-known and don't know whether you have read them... Sorry can't be too helpful since I don't read much romance and stuff that's too dramatic or something is probably not that romantic to some... so I haven't recommended.

If you are after moe or harem, I can't help either since they are not my thing and I don't consider those "romantic".

Well, everyone recommended me a lot of main stream ones with lots of drama like I"s, Suzuka, and Bitter Virgin.
However, I also like the ecchi ones with some comedy like To Love-Ru and Anedoki.
I basically like anything with a good plot, is entertaining, has good character development, etc.
I'm not too picky.

Some very good romances which aren't as well known.

Saishuu Heiki Kanojo is really good, don't be put of by the cheesy title.
Emma I'd definitly recomend, though some people say it's a bit slow.
Hoshi no koe is a bit short but it's nice.

If you're interested in Yuri Girl Friends is a good one to start with, but i have no idea what you've already read so... meh.

do you mind tragedy?
Orpheus no Mado is great imo but this can be classified as tragedy
Promise (SUETSUGU Yuki)

other suggestions:
Koucha Ouji
Chizumi & Fujiomi by Kyoko Hikawa
Niji no Densetsu
Mimoza de Sarada
7200 Byou no Romance
Anata ni Oitsukenai
Kanashimi yo Konnichiwa or 1000 no Kodou by Yuu Itou
Maria or Miss Rain by Naoko Takeuchi

ps: all is hm.. kinda shoujoish... the typical romantic shoujo so that may or may not suit your taste

These are both underrated or less known romance manga that I found great or at least entertaining (according to their popularity, of course don't expect a masterpiece for some of them). Random order, all the demography.

Watashitachi no Tamura-kun
Love Roma
Akuma Jiten
Mahoraba
Chokotto Sister
DearS
Milk Crown
Karin
Inumimi
Kodocha this is quite famous, but maybe a guy like you could have been avoided it. I suggest you to read it.

Btw, I only put mainly centered romance manga, I mean that I avoided manga with romance but where the main purpose is something else (fantasy, adventure, etc.). Tell me if I misunderstood and you preferred that kind of stuff.

Thanks reid1 for bringing that up!
Yes, I am also looking for mangas that are pretty much romance centered, but if you find a manga with a spice of romance that is also good and in the main story arc, feel free to bring it up! smile wink grin

For manga where romance is not the main theme but still present, I'd add at least (they're maybe a little more known that the previous one):
Ookami to Koushinryou
Chrno Crusade
Eureka Seven
Kyuuketsu Yuugi
Vampire Juujikai
