Haven't read too many hardcore hentai, but from the ones I have read, the worst cliche I have come across is the minute biographical details of the internal female genitalia-- I'm currently taking an anatomy course and I think the manga artists drawing these must have studied the chapter on genitalia for ages! I learned the hard way not to look at these while eating

My biggest annoyance is that even when sex is fully consentual the guy announces he's 'about to cum' and the girl protests agains cumming into her. Really, saying 'no' when it's already too late?

But when the story is about a pure romance, the girls (or guys) not being virgins would be pretty out of place. And when the theme is darker, or the guy is more or less sadistic, it's not inappropriate. Also, though showing blood is common, it's not so in most cases, or at least not noticeably so.
Instead, what I would consider a cliché, is that even when there's blood, it almost never hurts the girls. Or rather, it hurts at first, but almost immediately it turns to pleasure. And I don't see that it would somehow be more unromantic than with the pain, and without the pleasure. Of course, eroges tend to be more porn than actual story (though it's supposed to be eroge, not pornge), adjusted according to mainstream (I curse you yet again, mainstream).

Yeah, that's a cliche too - when the story is a romance, the girls are virgins (but that's not a big problem). Try 11eyes, the blood is pretty noticeable. It's the case in other romance games too, maybe not as noticeable as 11eyes but still there. They must show the blood - that's the problem.
Of course I know there are games where the girls are not virgins. Those games usually involve bondage and stuff (and watermelon shaped boobs? XD) just like a regular hentai anime.

Are you missing my point here? My point is: you are wrong. In the majority of eroges, they don't show the blood. Many times they do, but not enough for it to be a cliché. In eroge, it's not more uncommon that in real life. What's the real cliché is that it never hurts even if there's lots of blood for more than 5 seconds, then it turns to pleasure.

I think a lot of blood itself is already a worst cliche. I wonder what the point of that is in the sex. The pleasure thing is there of course because the sex is supposed to be porn. But the blood? So far I've only encountered two romance eroge (otome games excluded) without the blood thing. The rest all have it.

Your sampling is biased then.
I've only ever played one with plenty of blood.
The rest didn't have any at all or only so little
that it lasted for one frame although I've played
more than a handful.
