Any thoughts?

I miss the whole 1 mission per 2 eps thing =(

Hei with long hair and stubby...D=
I hope he cuts at least the long hair by episode 5 (or else...someone's gonna pay)

It looks like something happened to Yin too =(

The quality is still the same, but the story...I don't think they could finish it within 12 eps without having to rush certain things...>_>

I am not bothered too much by Hei's new look. I think the creators are trying to give the impression that something dramatic happened 2 years ago that effected Hei greatly. I like the touch of realism.

But, yeah, I do miss the more episodic structure of the first series. That way you got to meet more characters, it wasn't centered on just Hei and gang.

Overall, though, I think they're doing a great job. Gotta love the magician guy. And I don't think it said anywhere that it would only be 12 episodes...

The magician guy died too soon!
He's definitely one of the coolest contractors shown in the anime.
Also, I think it's planned for 16 eps, instead of 12 (my bad) bigrazz

16 is still small... I assumed it would be a 26 episoder though, perhaps my expectations are messing with me.

Btw, I don't think the magician guy is dead just yet. I bet the next ep. will come out, and it'll have been a trick! Way too cool to die.

12 episodes + 4 ova side stories.

Am I the only one who likes it shorter? O_O I miss the 2-episode arc thing they had. Can't stand long series, so it's more bearable if it's episodic. But that setting seems impossible with the current plot.

I like hobo-alcoholic-Hei's new look too.

Why can't every anime be this good?

There's always just 1 or 2 really good ones each season among the shit pile. Okay, okay sometimes even 3-4 but thats still only a very small % of all of the anime airing at any given season.

Good story + awesome characters + amazing animation = WIN

So far this season is even better than the first. Every contractor has been awesome. Only downside is that they die so fast.

Magician was good, but I liked the fast hamburger guy too. He hit a tree! Those little realism touches are really cool... although I'm not so sure why he died... he wasn't running *that* fast when he hit the hailstones... maybe he went into overdrive at just that moment?

I hope they keep the show going after these 12 episodes and the 4 ovas. It's just too great to stop!

Hei actually looks chinese this time around! His new look is better.

Yeah! Hamburger guy was awesome too. I really liked his voice for some reason. He sounded so... bored with everything. The thing with the hail totally confused me. I don't think that could really happen...

DTB is cool because it has such great characters, even if they don't last long, even if they're not that deep. They just ooze coolness. Even the flying squirrel oozes it. wink

Yeah! Exactly. Especially when he sais:
"Issho ni kite marouka" (Come with me)

The way he ended his sentence sounded really awesome.
I haven't heard such an awesome way of talking for a long time.
Every once in a while you get some voice actor that just pulls of an amazing accent.

Both in a unique yet cool way. (Osaka dialects can be really cool sometimes - not always though.) I always though I was wierd for picking up on things like that. I guess your hearing is really keen too!

Sadly he got just squashed (episode 3) by the not quite as cool perverted japanese contractor. At least there's no shortage of awesome contractors (though Tanya's locust power isn't very cool - bugs aren't my thing).

Lol. That was also my favorite line of his.
However, I don't know Japanese well enough to pick out unique endings or different dialects very well (unless they say something like "sorya!"). I like his voice because of the texture. Kind of full and warm and authoritative... I like when voice actors rrroll their rs and accentuate certain words. That's why I like Japanese voice actors better, really. They seem to pay more attention to the music of their dialog than English ones.

Ehm, you guys, he has already been dubbed as "Burger-kun", so let's call him that. embarrassed But yeah, I really like the Contractors in this season.

Also, Burger-kun died because he was moving at such a fast speed, that the rain actually made holes in his body. I mean, did you see how fast he ran? Ouch.

I understand that Burger-kun died because his fast speed supposedly made the water pierce him. It doesn't make sense though, because in real physics wouldn't the water drops break up rather than pierce him?

I know that if you fall from a high height into the ocean it will kill you, because the water doesn't have time to move out of the way of such a quickly moving object. But little drops of water are not like a large surface of water, right?

Maybe if it were hail...

Well, maybe it was hail.

And if it was rain, it was really hard rain. Since the rain was falling down rapidly. I don't know... I'm sure they actually put some research into it, the creators that is.

I'm pretty sure this was supposed to be hard rain and not hail.
I wonder how fast an object has to be moving in order to get pierced by rain droplets...

In any case I doubt they follow physics too closely. Just look at the other contractors! Even though they are supposed to have a particular ability, they can use it in weird ways.

That guy who can cover himself with an armor of concrete should not be able to move at all...

Suou is holding that PTRD-1941 (which incidentally my grandpa has! but I never though it to be cool before now) anti tank rifle like it's nothing, even though it's close to 20 kg with quite the recoil. It has that stand for a reason...

That blood guy from the first season could fling his blood around so incredibly far, and so much of it...

It would be too much work to completely define and classify their powers and would take some of the mystery away.

Anyway, I'm still sad for Burger-kun and Magician-kun... What a waste of awesome characters.

Yes, you're right, It's just comic book physics...
Most of the time I don't care... that scene just confused me so I was like "wtf"?

RIP Burger-kun and Magician-kun.

By the way, that Madame person is so similar to that transporting girl from EPR of the first season. I first thought they were the same person, since they never confirmed her to be dead... Oh wait, never mind, they did... *just checked ep. 25 again where she appears along with all the dead people*

Anyways, the voice actors are different to begin with. laugh

Those twin Dolls look awesome. So, rejoice!
They'll replace Burger-kun and August 7.
