We can use carbon nano-tubes as a sturdy materials and we should be able to create engines small enough to propel a human. Personally I think that there is a high chance that people could get hurt on them so there should be some kind of sensor-suit that when worn it could be bale to collect information of our heart-rate, muscle contractions and center of gravity. Now I'm not saying that we could be freaking Storm Kings but hey they will definately be a step up from the usual roller blades. I'm am also not saying that we could make them spit out fore either...no matter how cool that would be.
I am big on the whole two wheel thing that Air Gears have going on, So there has to be a way to make that work two. Another thing is the fact that a motor needs power...no matter how small it is. So there has got to be a type of battery and whether or not they are chargeable is up to the creators. Then we have to make sure that when the motor gets hot it DOESN'T burn your feet. That would be a problem. So there has to be some type of self cooling mechanism in them.
Also I know everyone who is reading this has seen at least one Extreme Skater do some kind of jump, land and break his/her leg. So there should be some kind of shock absorber in the soles and wheels of the skates so that if the rider does do a jump from a high place not as much damage will be inflicted on them and there bones. As long as they don't land face first. Also I believe that the speed thing should be realistic. Come on people, face it. There is no way in hell that people should go rolling around at 100 mph on a pair of motorized roller blades. At most the speed should be at least 35 mph. that way you won't die if you crash into a wall going top speed.
Also the wheels should not turn at 35 mph. They should let you to be able to skate and not stand straight up while they turn on their own. I know you've all been skating before and know that when you skate the wheels are still turning when you take a step and that they are still turning when they hit the ground again. You should be able to run in them and skate as usual.
i've found a way to control the speed of AT. so it wont thrust forward everytime our feet touches the ground. it's remote control but we wear it on our wrist, thigh,anywhere we like. it should be able to give us the right speed we wanted. That quote was from lightning90. I agree with him. That idea could also be worked into the sensor-suit idea from paragraph 2 that I came up with.
like a bike gears. ya know, we just determine the gear we want like 0(not moving),1(walking pace),2,3,4,5. every state of gears have it's own limit so we wont over accelerate when we don't want to. we press the button of that corresponding to the gear in AT. That quote was also from lightning90. I also agree with this one because the highest gear would be the fastest you could go without over heating and not being safe.
All in all I believe that with a little time and effort it could be possible to create real AIR GEAR. Until then lets just find a way to get the idea across to the people who could actually build them. Because that way we won't be stuck with some grease monkey in his garage trying to put these together with no results.
