I really want to read some good mangas who are not very popular but are still great. I haven't found any topic like this jet so I'm making one( sorry if I overlooked it).

I want some mangas who are really impressive in some way. Not the one everyone knows, but some most people don't know.

Any genre is ok but please mention if it is some of the following:
-hentai, ecchi
-seinen
-yuri, shojo ai
-oneshots,doujinshi

because I don't really like them ^^

I forgott to mention that it would be great if you could also write a short sentence, what the manga is about or/and why you think its great

[Yome-iro Choice] - This one is Porn even if most people want to Qualify it as echi . Is just as Porn as My Balls

i just wanna point out the contradiction here, If a manga is great it is popular, since it is great.
So to find a great manga that is not popular is kinda hard (or impossible)

Or do you mean that you want great mangas that are not well known?

Since it's quite difficult for me to have a good perception of what is popular and what not I can at least tell you what I'd read from your wish list.

Vampire Juujikai a good story and very good characters.
Superior it gives a sort of shoujo-ish feeling so it should appeal to girls.

And maybe between not so famous manga I'd pick Vampire Game (one of the few shoujo I could enjoy).
And I wouldn't call it not popular, but if you didn't read Kodocha I highly suggest it.
Another one which just comes to mind is Spiral, if you're into mystery it's a good story.


PS: don't want to be polemic, but if she doesn't like ecchi and seinen, My Balls (which have more votes than Berserk here so I'd not say it's unpopolar) and Dance in the Vampire Bund are the last manga I would recommend.

Safe Again Today it's adorable.
More people should read it.

I Am a Piano kinda sad, but lovely.

Perfect World (NAKAMURA Asumiko) hard to find, but it's also a lovely dramatic one.

Minna Kirakira just so cute.

K no Souretsu good mystery, great art.

Jadou - Tenmou Yatan I think it's a very good title.

Fuan no Tane it's a pretty good manga. If you like the urban myth thing. :3

Plastic Girl (FURUYA Usamaru) weird, but intruiging to a degree.

Hanshin a very good oneshot.

Banana Bread Pudding if you like wacky characters.

Akazukin to Yasashii Ookami an amazing oneshot. I'm surprised so few have read it.


I excluded seinen (I think) and everything else you didn't want, but threw in some oneshots.
Cause they really good. You should try them. ^^

Basara (future world, sci-fi, shoujo, adventure and action, gender bender, drama, and forbidden love. the main topic is revolution against a tyranical monnarchy and the love story, the set is a japan that looks as it was in the past, with katanas, samurais, royalty, slaves, no human rights... and a main heroine strong and brave)

Yumekui Kenbun maga about a creature called Baku who eats nightmares, customers come to him so he can relive them for their nightmares.
Shibariya Komachi to me this manga is a mush between Ghost hunt and furuba, it really good manga.
Orange Yane no Chiisana Ie light read about two families have to live under the same roof.
Ningyou Kyuutei Gakudan it about an orchestra that have the power to destroy evil puppet, I know my summary make this manga look like it crappy but honestly it good dark shoujo.

Onani Master KUROSAWA : not sure if it's wellknow or not, but a must read manga =)
Mostly Seinen, psychological and some romance.
Only one thing to say, don't stop at vol.3.

I would recommand Dolls by naked ape. The art is awesome and the plot is just as great. And there's lots of bishis. ^^
It runs in the same magazine than Loveless and 07-ghost.

Also Seven days it's a cute shonen-ai. It isn't completly scanlated yet, but so far it's really good.

Q.E.D. (shounen, detective).
Along with C.M.B., it's my favourite among shounen detective manga series. The cases are interesting, especially when they are related to mathematics and other fields of science in later volumes.

Say Hello to Black Jack (seinen)
The best medical manga I've ever read. This series is mind-gripping and encourages readers to think about moral issues (though I need 4 volumes before I completely like the main character ).

If you can stand older artworks, I recommend any manga by :
- Hagio Moto : Zankoku na Kami ga Shihai Suru, Marginal, Thomas no Shinzou, Poe no Ichizoku, A, A'. NightSwan has already mentioned Hanshin, and I second her recommendation.
- Aoike Yasuko : From Eroica with Love (don't judge this series by 1st volume, btw) and El Halcon.
- Ooshima Yumiko : Banana Bread Pudding, Summertime.
They are great story-tellers and amazing manga crafters, but mostly go unnoticed between english-speaking crowd. I suspect it's because their works aren't like what we see in most manga nowadays (though it seems they are popular between manga critics and hardcore readers).
