Inspired by the Male Rape Victims thread, where I recommended the manga My Name is Nero.
The emperor Nero was sexually abused by his mother as a child, and continues to be abused even after becoming a man, although he is now a "willing" participant - not that a prior victim of child abuse can ever truly consent to their abuser, but he obviously thinks he's consenting and loves her madly. (I do mean "madly" literally - the guy's a nutcase!) Of course, she's a maniac too, and it's no surprise that he eventually turns against her...
Anyway, this made me wonder whether there were any other non-hentai mangas with mother/son incest. Not necessarily a biological mother, but just a "mother figure" or an older female guardian who plays the mother's role in all the important ways and is perceived as a mother figure. She may or may not have "raised" the male character since childhood, but at the time of the incest occurring, she played or is playing a mother's role. The male character can be an adult or a child at the time of the incest occurring.
Another possibility is unfulfilled feelings, like the son being in love/lust with his mother but not actually doing anything about it, or vice versa, or both. So the incest never actually occurs but remains at an emotional/psychological level.
I know that there is an Incest thread, but that has WAY too many posts to look through and almost all of them are for other kinds of incest, anyway. I wanted a thread that focused on mother/son incest only. Even though I find this kind of thing really freaky, I'm just suddenly curious about how many mangas deal with this sort of thing. Because let's face it, weird stuff does happen in real life as well; we occasionally hear this kind of news, don't we?
A recommendation can be any genre except hentai, obviously. It could be a consensual relationship or a non-consensual pattern of abuse, or maybe just an episode or a flashback. Even a brief mention of mother/son incest or incestuous emotions are ok.
Any mother/son incest out there?

Volume 1 of Nijyu Rasen by Yoshihara Rieko (of Ai no Kusabi fame). One of my favorite BL titles ever, because of the drama CD adaptation only. The novels haven't been translated, but english translations of the drama CDs vol 1-3 are available. Spoiler (highlight to view) After the father left the family for another woman, the mom gets weird in the head and forces the first son into incestuous relationship (she thinks he is her husband). The daughter witnesses them having smex, then also leaves the family after she shouts the mother should have died. The mother takes a bunch of sleeping pills and died. The first son who has brother complex to the second son, forces his little brother into incestuous relationship. The third son is hikkikomori and he finds out that his big brothers are having sex with each others, and later develops brother complex to the second son.
This is one fucked up family.

Is it translated or are you just able to read Japanese?

Nope, I read the english translations (of the drama CDs) as I listen to the CDs. So far, they follow volumes 1-3 of the novels 
can't help pimping it up, since I've been obsessed with this series for these past 4 years

Aaah I love the drama series for Nijuu Rasen, the cast was superb! Mikishin's acting gave me the shivers literally. Heh, I remembered feeling ridiculously happy that the couple was so loveydovey in the last drama.

Yup yup, the cast is made of pure awesome though because of Yoshihara Rieko's reputation, I keep expecting that the lovey-dovey is like calm before the storm 
when will vol 4 be dramatized ?

Just remember it now, chapter 1 of Himitsu by Shimizu Reiko has this theme. The son is in love with his mother, but not doing anything about it. It's bittersweet, though.
