What is the best way to translate a dialect or accent of the original language that is not the norm (e.g., Kansai-ben)?
Different country's English accent (e.g., Irish or Australian)
Different American regional accent (e.g., Southern)
Have the character use different slang (e.g., 'pops' instead of 'dad')
Minor speech pattern differences (e.g., dropping the 'g' in '-ing' words)

The main character is male.
The story takes place at school and their homes (maybe not the school part).
I think sports are involved, but I couldn't find it under sports. (could just be my failing)
The main character loves a girl.
There is a chicken involved.

Unfortunately, this is all I can recall... or the only things I think I can recall.

I was hoping someone could help me narrow this down. I am very sure about the chicken, however.
