I think it'd be great to have a shoujo where the female lead isn't flat-chested with long thin legs, but with actual curves and softness that's portrayed in the artwork. A lot of people seem to be bashing shounen genre due to the sex appeal they have with their female characters, but honestly shoujo is the same as well - shoujo basically markets unrealistic, saucey-faced bishounen men with sometimes HORRIBLE personalities (bad boy type w/ a heart of gold) to young girls and give them ridiculous ideas and pretty much sometimes even delusions them from reality (because real men aren't like that, they aren't bishounen men who are super perfect at everything).

But even more than that, I'd like a shoujo female that isn't low self-esteem plain jane that gets bullied and takes it - in a way, I really wish shoujo manga would expand beyond those storylines and honestly shine a light for young girls like shounen does for young boys (shounen protagonists usually being useless and silly at the start yet making strong bonds with friends and maturing in the end, becoming a hero with good beliefs and a kind heart). There's few shoujos out there that overcome the same old storyline - so few, I can't even think one title off the top of my head.

It's a personal preference of mine that I'd like a shoujo girl with breasts that aren't A/B cup, honestly, I'd like to see a cute petite sized girl with cute plump thighs and breasts around C/D cup because it's relatable for me since I, myself, am 5"0 and Asian and petite with breasts around said size :C

I read shoujo manga because I like cute stories that are light-hearted with romance (I read shounen if I want actual good, detailed art w/ a long plotline lmao or josei for that matter) and unlike a lot of girls who are there for the bishounens - I'm there for the girl because I love adorable girls who're fluffy and soft and sweet. <:

Kayono is a real author (not that she has integrity or talent) and even the innocent and very successful Ore Monogatari!! has Yamato big bust as a plot point so i don´t get how this topic is on page 14 besides the inflammatory headline.
Our Big Breasts tag also leads to 2 pages of Josei and Shoujo manga and i could name you twice the amount if i wanted to. Because titZ as in Gantz aren´t the norm in female publications doesn´t meant that none have a cup size .

With fourteen pages of comments I don't have time to sort through everyone, but has anyone mentioned that bra sizes aren't really that cut and dry? Usually they are, yes, but I've been friends with a girl who was technically a C-cup, but one would think she'd be more of an A- or B-cup. I know it's strange and confusing, but anatomy is strange and confusing (well, sometimes).

When will this thread die? It's insulting on so many levels. It should have been shut down by a mod when it was started.

Well, the average Japanese woman has A-cup breasts. So I don't know, maybe the breast size seems abnormally small by some western standards. Personally I don't think they're small, but they're "fashionably-sized." They are just big enough to look cute in a bikini and in whatever other fashion items Japanese girls obsess about.

I mean,
"They're too small..."
is what the heroine says, but she looks perfectly good in all those trendy outfits.

and if you want breasts....well maybe shoujo manga is the wrong genre for you. Go for Hentai or Seinen. Pretty much the same thing these days.
