Feel sorry for utsumi, his senpai is a total B3Tch for just lying to him like that. Not even telling him the truth until he caught them. i hope he gets the last laught.

berserk eh, i like the sound of that--maybe he'll rise to some new tennis height or something. His senpai is probably being played though, if that guy she likes knew that she liked him, he could have made his move sooner. He's just using her to fulfill his own needs and compensate for what he's missing. She's worse for going along with it, and betraying utsumi's trust. That's not cool.

Just how exactly did she lie? She didnt lie, she just didnt tell the whole truth, she said something came up and something really did come up, but it was something that cant be explained through a text message. Shou could hardly go out on a date with Utsumi when she already has a boyfriend. And she did mean to tell him later but not over the phone, because to explain it to him properly she needed to tell Utsumi to his face, so she was waiting for the next schoolday to tell him. If she didnt mean to tell Utsumi, if she wanted to conceal, Shou could've still said that he was just her senpai and she was helping him, but sh4e told Utsumi the whole truth about dating him, instead of lying to him and giving him false hopes, so yeah she was gonna tell him, but just not over the phone.

Also, can you really blame Shou for chhosing the man she is been in love with for all these years? Its likely she is being played with, but when you are a naive, innocent, teenage girl in love like Shou, things like rebound girl matters very little, and Shou has never been portrayed as a sensible person, she always thinks with her heart first, and she went with what her heart was feeling. For us readers, or outsiders, its easy to criticise and be objective and see that the senpai is not sincere in his love for Shou but its hard for Shou herself to judge that when she feels so strongly fotr him and even Utsumi understands this and that's why he didnt get angry at her.

Well hellooo, not telling the truth is considered to be a lie. If you do not believe that ask any law-man. Not telling the truth is most definitely a lie, so please stop with this nonsense.

Sempai did had her own free will, so one canot call her bitch for that, but she certainly ended up being on the bitchy side for they way she handled things. She certainly could have been honest without all these lies.

I think he means to say it was a white lie. It wasn't a complete lie, but it wasn't the truth either. I mean, a complete lie would be saying something like "I'm ill" instead of "something came up".

ANYWAY lets hope for some development between Utsumi and Yuki! Main guy x main girl FTW

Oh by the way, if this story is following a cliché route (which it might well be. I dunno. Lets see if it surprises me), the whole "first love" heartbreak thing was inevitable. You could so see that something is gonna happen between Yuki and Utsumi from the beginning. Well, I thought so anyway embarrassed

@tactics, Thanks alot, finally someone gets it, and yes that's what I meant, she didnt tell the whole truth but she didnt exactly lie either

Well my opinion 'before' 13 was that she was to blame. She did make a promise to see Utsumi for the date. I think that may have cemented the idea that Shou betrayed him in a some way. Betrays too strong but everyone seemed to have the mind set that what Shou did was wrong.

After '13' we found out that she had infact spoke to Kaito the night before, and accepted (stupidly Imo) his feeling's so it makes sense that it would be hurtful to both Utsumi and Kaito if she went on the date. She had no choice but to apologize and break off the date. She then had two choices. Be unclear and say something came up. Or explain fully what happened.

Obviously the benefit of the first option is that she doesn't have to explain that she's now seeing someone else thus hurting his feelings (which she would have gathered by now actually exist) in the process. It's less personal and as a result, the fallout should be less when he actually find's out later on. It also mean's she feels less guilt. Meaning it's a sort of win/win situation. She could never have forseen meeting him at the store. No-one could. It's just far too improbable.

The second option was telling him. Now if she did, it's reasonable for forsee that Utsumi would be quite hurt and accept it. Although there's also the possibility that he would confess in a form of desperation, since as we know in this latest chapter that it's the one thing he regretted not doing. She would then have to rject him making him feel terrible.

My opinion is that while it was a risk, it was a risk worth taking, where the end result benefit's both parties. Utsumi wouldn't have seen the situation and found out from his friend's instead. Most likely thinking, "damn I missed my chance" but he wouldn't be heartbroken. Remember it was the seeing them together that would've been the final blow. If it didn't happen then everything works out for the both of them.

I've always been the type of person who's moral compass tells you that while honesty is very good. It is only in moderation that it's best served for everyone. Long story short is, Shou played a numbers game and lost. Should she be disliked for it..No. She made the most logical choice.

Although I question whether she had the intelligence to think of it all in that way. It's quite possible that she was just too afraid to tell the truth and just put it off but we could never know.

Well to sum it all up ---

Did Shou hurt Utsumi? Yes
Did she piss us all off? Yes
Is she a few cards short of a full deck? Wouldn't surprise me
Is what she did wrong? Not really

Thought it pains me to say this, Shou had every right to do what she did. She is no where near as evil as some some people have claimed her to be. She never lied to Utsumi, she just wasn't specific. She was most likely waiting to come clean the next time they met. Something like this is better to explain to ones face rather than over the phone or in a text. Doing that is more like adding insult to injury. It would also make it seem like she didn't care about the date in the first place.

Anyways, I always preferred Yuki more than Shou, so I m happy how things worked out. I only hope Utsumi takes things slowly with Yuki and let's things play out as they will, because rushing wont help

Chances that Yuki is gonna be like "Err. No" are pretty high aren't they laugh

Shame really. More awkwardness to come if this happens methinks.

LoL yeah that is what Yuki probably goona say if Utsumi confesses to her right away. He has to be careful not to rush things with her, be patient, be confident of his own feelings and get closer to her, let things play ouut as they will and look for the right time to confess. Because, if he confesses right now, Yuki as perceptive as she is, will immediately feel and understand that Utsumi is only using her as the rebound, not to mention, a girl that has a complicated past as Yuki is unlikely to fall in love with Utsumi in a day

Although the setting and characters are quite different this quite reminds of Kimi no Iru Machi storyline for some reason. >.>

Likes one girl, Then he realizes he likes the other one better and finally ends up with the first one and maybe later goes into Harem Mode laugh

I don't want anything happening between Yuki and Utsumi. I still think or want to think that Utsumi wont truly be able to get over his first love. Maybe a little jealousy by Shou would be nice if she ever see's them together but I personally don't want Yuki to end up with Utsumi.

i dont see any reason why u would be defending her. not telling the boy that she knew liked her that she all of a sudden had a boyfriend constitutes as not telling the whole truth. especially if all she tells him is that "oh i have other plans". i agree with u that this is something that should be discussed face ti face but i feel that she may not have even told him anythime soon. but anyway thats just my opinion

I do feel sorry for utsumi i mean common he finally worked so hard to even ask her out on a date to confess that probably took alot of work and courage

but NO his senpai had to be a !@#$$ and go be with another guy

and she doesnt relize that that guy only came to her because he was dumped!!! thats pathetic shes just basically a rebound girl

honestly from the start i wanted him to start a better romances with yuki there were some hints and the lastest chapter he becomes largely aware of how much she helped him but i wonder who the guy is?
who wants to take a guess? i say cousin that likes her
