When I was around 13 or so, my dad told me he got Hepatitis from a sewage line he was working on in HS (he missed most of his senior year being on deaths door). I believed it for a while (as you CAN get Hepatitis from excrement), but alas he got it the normal way.

My maternal grandmother used to tell me she looked at and ordered photos during WWII. Turns out she assisted in identifying targets to be bombed and aided in damage assessment after.

I never used to think it strange my paternal grandparents lived together but in different room of their house, until one day after talking with a friend, I wondered. I asked my parents, and my dad responded that it was because my grandpa smoked and my grandma hated it. My mom responded she would have done the same if my dad hadn't stop smoking. Later I found out my grandparents were divorced from each other, but couldn't stand being away from each other.

Next is not really a lie, but traumatizing. I was around 5 and my family ate green bean casserole for dinner, one of my favorites and we had alot of leftovers. The next morning, there was a huge cockroach in the house (it had just rained) and my dad smashed it with a boot. It was very messy, and my dad stated, hey, this looks just like the casserole we ate last night. As we had left overs, my mom insisted on eating it again that day. I refused, but being 5 my parents forced me to eat it, which I promptly threw up. I admit I was being bratty about it (and worse), so even after throwing it up, they made me eat it again, which I threw up again. After the second time, they gave up and sent me to bed. Since then grean bean casserole makes me nauseated (sight, smell etc). And I hate green beans. It is interesting, as a southern family green bean casserole is a family favorite, and when we have Thanksgiving/Christmas/Easter meals, and have 20 people at my grandparents, casserole is always served and it has to be passed around me.

I have a very similar story like Sandric's. When I was 5 or 6 years old my uncle told that eggs come out of a chicken's ... well you know what I mean. After I thought about it for a while I understood that this can't be possible true but stil to this day I can't bear the smell of boiled eggs or the taste of it, I have to throw up immediately. Of course I don't dislike eggs in general, only boiled eggs.

Haha My parents pulled the jack in the beanstalk thing too. They said if we swallowed seeds from a fruit, a tree will grow inside you. I actually fell for it none

I fell for it too, however it wasn't my parents who told me that story, it was my best friend mad

My niece told that if I don't finish my dish, I would get married to an ugly boy.WTH ==''

When I was about 10, I was bored so I started watching teletubbies with my little sister and brother. My dad then comes and tells me about how educational shows make little kids smarter, but it makes kids my age stupider. I actually believed him no

if anything, i did more lying as a kid than my parents...
....with the exception of "santa claus,"(found out soon as the wrapping paper + handwriting was the same) roll

also when we were driving in the car when it was raining, my mum used to say she could make the rain stop. low a behold, she would click her fingers and for a fraction of a second it would. until one day i looked up and saw that everytime she performed this bit of "magic", we were going under a bridge no

I got all the classics from my mom, but a funny one was with my friend who told me if you snitch(on him) the tooth fairy will punch a tooth out. I didn't believe him, but I didn't tell at him either.

My parents never really lied, but my grandmother would lie all the time. She told me that if you swallowed bubble gum, you would have to have surgery to get it out. (This terrified me.) Other lies include taking a shower after exercising will give you heart problems. The most disturbing is when she told my little brother that if he kept on misbehaving, she would chop off his male part and it would turn him into a girl.O_O
