I've dropped a few series, but the major reasons I drop them are because of the grammar (which can usually be a translation problem rather than the manga itself), amount of time between releases, and because the story line I find dull and unappealing.

Storyline is nonexistent and/or poorly written
Too many characters are annoying
Art and/or the font hurts my eyes

And then, I guess, anything that I find triggering, because that's just not something I want to put myself through.

Shonen:
Bad guys turning to good guys... especially when the good guy just talks to the bad guy, and suddenly everything is good! I hate that so much. Everyone is not going to be everyone's friend...

I guess I have a problem with too much friendship...? Sounds awful but it's true. no

Shojo:
Female lead going for the wrong guy! I dropped Fruits Basket because of it (what the hell?) and I might drop vampire knight because of it (bitches be crazy).

I mean, don't go for the cliche guy, but... sometimes you have to! roll eyes

I hate it when they have a well-established pace, then it either gets very fast, cramming the story together, or very slow...going nowhere. Can I just have consistency?

I hardly ever drop series, but if I do it's 'cos of these:
When story is badly written or it just randomly jumps from one topic to another
Poor art (not always, just when it combines with other "turn offs")
Stupid main characters, like those who just let others push them around
Weak female leads
"Girl falls in love with random guy for random reasons, guy doesn't care, but suddenly he realizes that he loves her" and so on and so on

In a Shounen, the fact that every single girl who meets the main character ends up falling for him. Seriously? It gets annoying already when there are more than two of them. And unfortunately this doesn't happen only in harem manga, so I'll find out only when I've already been reading the story for a while.

Oh, and also the whole brother/sister complex issue. I just can't stand it.

1) overly weak and stereotypical female leads

2) Shoujo-ized plotlines: I'm not talking good shoujo, but bad shoujo. There's a pretty interesting/attractive plot, but the romance and general shoujo situations or shoujo heroine perfection/weakness/harem or whatever just kills it. Completely.

3) when a manga is well on its way and random crap happens OUT OF NOWHERE. It's like a different story. Oftentimes the change isn't for the better.

1. If it's all about tragedy (alot). I still enjoy tragedy in limit.

2. The main (male) characters are TOO pathetic, useless and some kind of idiot. I prefer strong characteristic.

3. Finally, there's no way to follow a manga if it didn't exist in your teriotory and was dropped by Scan-Groups.

The sparkling thing in shoujo or yaoi genre.
it's good if they're parody and mean to be funny biggrin

When a girl punches/hits/hurts a boy and gets away with it just because she is a girl.
Bad artwork
Characters that can't stand up for themselves - also characters that make others feel inferior.

- damsel in distress/whinny main heroine
- unrealistic group bullying
- shounen ai/yaoi
- repetitive story pattern in every chapter
- repetitive narration in every chapter beginning, like in warau kanoko @_@
- too boring, or cliches overload
- too skinny characters also turns me off... like Keishichou Tokuhanka 007

Quite sick of all the similar character growth in typical shoujo mangas, and all the ice prince thing, playboy guys. No, probably I'm just sick of all the shoujo without a UNIQUE storyline.
