This time I'm looking for something that fits the following criteria.

1.Shounen or Seinen (though if seinen not very sexual, I like my manga more on the innocent side).(also I judge by art really, I just can't get into Shoujo or Josei art style so if it's one of those but looks very shounen or seinen than that's ok too.)

2.Male protagonist

3. Love interest who either shows no interest at first, or is already going out with another guy.

4. Said love interest has to remain the main love interest, nothing like where [m]GE-Good Ending[/m] is heading where the main love interest shifts to someone else after the girl gets a boyfriend.

OR

1. I love stories like Otogi Matsuri in which the male feels like even if he confessed they couldn't be together because of something he's done or something he knows is going to happen. IT fits the above as well as the main girl has a boyfriend but If it fits this and is shounen that's fine too.

Preferably nothing too tragic (nothing like School Days where everything goes to hell at the end). I'd prefer happy endings but it's not a must.

I also like more stoic male characters (aka not whiney weak willed guys) but that too isn't needed.

I know I'm asking for a lot here, sorry and thanks, I just enjoyed Otogi Matsuri too much and since it's nowhere near finished and hasn't been updated I found myself craving this scenario.

is it ok if it goes back to the main interest after a short shift?

if so, I'd recomend Suzuka, but it is a really known manga, so I'm guessing you've read it bigrazz

EDIT: I just started rereading it, it is a little ecchi in the beginning, but it gets less so after the first 2-3 chapters or so

Seo Kouji has done some great mangas in shonen romance and sports, so try him if you haven't already

Suzuka is actually the first 100+ ch manga I read to completion, but not really what I'm looking for in this case. That whole side relationship was the one thing that made me annoyed with it, that a character can be so devoted but at the same time change so easily, I prefer something where the male is devoted to one character and sticks with it, just seems more powerfully romantic to me.

Thanks.

And I've looked into some of his others as well. Great romances, not really what I'm into at the moment though.

Thanks, I'd add my own but I don't know of many besides the Otogi Matsuri, and unfortunately I read way to many manga to remember them all, so even if I do I wont remember.

Oh, I guess just for reference before someone posts them. Nothing where the love interest's love is dead and that causes the issue, I want a male 100% devoted to an unrequited love till it works, not something where the girl is carrying baggage keeping them apart (though if the man is that's ok) Suzuka made me think of that, things like Highschool of the Dead where he's alive at first but dies is a no too (though that doesn't really fit I guess since it's never really unrequited...)

If I can think of examples I'll share too.

I think there are a case like that in Hatsukoi Limited, or Need a Girl
Love Hina or Tenshi na Konamaiki maybe, but I don't think it suit your tatse
Zippy Ziggy is pretty fun and they absolutely show no love interest at first but I don't think that guy is kind of devoting for love.
Mousou Shoujo Otakukei the guy really devoted for love hopelessly since the girl is a fujoshi (yaoi lover ) lol
If you are interested in one-shot there is something like that in Salad Days
The last thing come to my mind is the second short story in this josei Cherish, I'm sure the art is probably fine for guy.

Hatsukoi unlimited fits but there's too much jumping around and about 100 relationships so I have a lot of trouble getting into it, I like a single solid male protagonist.

Need a girl is a maybe, I don't know why but all three protagonists ( all except the non perverted one) annoy the hell out of me and aren't very devoted to a single girl from the start. the only one I kind of like is the two-toned hair one who mistakenly believes the girl he fell for is some sort of player, found that funny.

Mousou Shoujo Otakukei fits, but not what I'm looking for. My fault, I didn't make it clear. She doesn't return interest at first but the feelings are there she just doesn't understand them. I want something where the girl flat out has no interest in the head over heels guy, who is willing to do anything for her. Preferably the has a boyfriend already scenario because I think it makes a good plot device as something standing between them. Even better if she dislikes him or misunderstands him (I was really hoping Bogeypop Dual would have this judging by the opening chapter but that went nowhere).

Salad Days I haven't read, can anyone tell me which one that's in?

And Cherish doesn't really interest me, just doesn't look like my thing.

Thanks for all your recommendations.

Also, anyone who's read Slam Dunk, does the love interest ever return the protagonists feelings, I started it but from what I can get from the summaries and character bios she's in love with the other guy, and I really don't want to start a 270+ch manga if I know I'm not going to like the way it ends. Or does he just grow to love the game and come to terms with her not loving him?

The most important thing for the 1st scenario on my request is this: It must take time for the relationship to shift. I don't want something where it happens early on, I want something where this is a significant part of the series. Nothing like Rough. Though it may be one of my favorites (It's Mitsuru Adachi, It can't not be one of my favorites) the relationship changes way to quick from interest/hate to love/love (even if there was a mid introduced love rival... a technique I hate btw, like padding for extra drama)...

Sorry I'm making a lot of rules here, but the problem is that there are so many that can misunderstand what I'm after and just trying to convey what I'm after.

Genshiken: Madarame has a one-sided love for Saki, Kousaka's girlfriend, until the very end.

Love Survival fits the desciption loosely I guess. The heroine likes her childhood friend who likes her sister who is in a relationship at first.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
In the end, the guy and her sister together.
But it is only a single volume.
