So we have a plethora of manga filled with attractive eye-candy, panty shots and bouncing breast. Where's the female equivalent? It must be out there I just haven't found it. It doesn't even have to be on the same level as ecchi, just something showing a woman being sexual attracted to someone without it being shrouded in mystery (ie: she doesn't understand her feelings... I've read one too many shoujo's I think). The only scene that comes to mind for me at the moment is in Goong the female lead is attracted to the point of sleeplessness to the male leads back. Kimi wa Petto sort of comes to mind as well.

Thanks

The eye candy in shoujo manga is the bishies and how they 'act' to romance the female lead, I guess. You don't see guys' panty shots everywhere or some bouncing body parts for women. And they don't even need good art to make girls like their manga (Same goes to yaoi. Just look at the lousy yaoi art that's found in most of them.). There's a long story of assumed gender difference behind all these. I don't think smut is really an equivalent to ecchi but it probably serves a similar purpose of fanservice - fanservice, but done differently since it's assumed that different things will work for different genders. A lot of people think that men are more "visual" and women like to imagine sex and associate it with feelings, and so on. Therefore there is smut, which is just similar to those cheesy romance novels.

Pheromomania Syndrome, never read it but seems kinda like what you're looking for...
Kinkyori Renai, main female lead detest the guy but is ONLY attracted to his handsome face.

I guess you could also check out the numerous fujoshi series where the girl is constantly fantasizing about guys doing the dirty deed... with each other. laugh

Smut is... quite different. It's worse as far as events, but not so revealing visually.

smut ex: Guy is molesting a girl against her will, who is romanticizing her rape as it happens. This is heavily censored.

Ecchi ex: Guy is watching a girl doing exercises, and her top falls down. If he touches her, it's by accident and either the girl likes him so she doesn't mind, but the guy recoils, or she promptly destroys him with destructive force. Everything above the waist is usually visible.

Anyway, carry on with the topic.
