listen. i need help from all otaku's around the world to make this real. i ain't willing to wait for 100 years to ride an AT. on the thread "do you think air treks can be made", they already solved the material problems. we can use carbon nano-tubes as a sturdy materials. this is probably the only thing solved right now. but trust me, if all otaku around the world contribute, we can make this real. we all got our own specialty, so give it a try. we can all discuss this.
Admin Edit: Go bug these guys about it since this thread is locked: http://z13.invisionfree.com/TheAtProject3/

i think that you might be right and we could make a small motor with enough power to move a person. that is the easy part though then we have to figure out how to Spoiler (highlight to view) make huge amounts of fire come out of it .

it's completely possible! though to get it to the degree in Air Gear might take a while...
saw some guy make shoes that had wheels put in them and rolled on their own.
the potential is there, it's just a matter of figuring it out. customize some rollerblades so that there are only two wheels, throw a small motor in with a belt or chain in order to rotate the wheels, etc.

We would have to start from scratch, if we tried to modify existing rollerblades, we would end up with exactly that...a pair of modified rollerblades.
if anyone has the schematic for the airtrack from the manga I can build it in ProE and we can see what we really have to work with.

Isn't this just a repetition of this topic? http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=1146&hl= AIR%20TREK

No I think the other topic was a discussion on the viability of the Air Trek.
This topic is for people who actually want to build it to start real planning and prototyping.

the motor can be easily made but its the power source im worried about. we'd need to make something small and light enough that a person can atleast carry it on his back and safe enough so that it doesnt break if the person falls. i designed one in my head that would work but the top speed is about 8 miles an hour. oh yeah i forgot that my design had three wheel on each shoe rather then 2

i think two wheels is better so it could support our body when at high speed.
i've found a way to control the speed of AT. so it wont thrust forward everytime our feet touches the ground. it's remote control but we wear it on our wrist, thigh, anywhere we like. it should be able to give us the right speed we wanted.

aren't the motors supposed to be inside the regalia? the problem would be making motors that small but strong enough to accelerate a person wearing them.
by the way lightning. you could have just put your posts in one post...or edit

in my design i had something like that to. it was like a hand brake the harder you squeezed it the faster you would go. the reson i had three wheels is because i put the motors in the front of the shoe rather then the back so i need 2 wheels positioned like the kiddy blades in the back. oh did i mention i had 2 motor on each shoe rather then one.

so your design is like a bike handle right? well mine's like a bike gears. ya know, we just determine the gear we want like 0(not moving),1(walking pace),2,3,4,5. every state of gears have it's own limit so we wont over accelerate when we don't want to. we press the button of that corresponding to the gear in AT.

Well using motors from toy cars might give it a tiny boost to move on it's own. I use to own this stuff a while back and they sure very fast. Though i never tried riding on them cuz they are quite expensive >.>
