So, is anyone else watching it?

My friends and I are, and while there are somethings I wish were different, I rather enjoy it. Especially Sunako's entrance, which was amazing, cheesy but amazing.
I didn't think I would, but I like the fact that its different from the anime and manga, the setting and additional characters. Although, I'd been under the impression Kyouhei had bleached hair...I'm not delusional right? He's blonde in the anime. That's my biggest pet peeve, it always irks me when a character has the wrong hair, be it from book, manga, comic, anything really.

Also there are fan subbed versions of the first two episodes, so far only two have aired.

I'll probably watch it once it's completely subbed, if I remember. The more I hear about it the more interested I am in watching. eyes

I watched the first episode of the live action drama and it was pretty interesting. The ghastly entrance was really a good scare, and the plot line as well as the actors makes the story funny yet attention grabing. I'll definitely look forward to the next 24 episodes.

24 episodes?? eek That's a LOT for a jdorama, 10-12 is more usual...are you sure there are going to be that many?

...And now I'm a lot more interested than I was before, but I'm still going to wait until it's completely subbed. wink

It's bad. Really bad. Well, I expected bad acting (since it is a Japanese comedy-drama), but they twisted the plot completely and made Sunako into someone she's not T_T And not to mention how annoying Nie is in the drama.

But never mind, the manga is still here so who cares about the drama ^^

it's probably just me... but i rather like how they developed Kyouhei and Sunako's characters in the live action... but then again, i might just be biased since i love Kame so much *dies*

i have to be honest, as a fan of the manga, it irked me how they changed and added stuff in the live action but seeing as it will only be aired for like 10-11 episodes, i kinda understand why they changed/added the story line. overall, i think the change they did sorta held the story line quite well. i mean, the manga itself isn't really... smooth flowing, you know? so they had to make every episode seamless for the next one.

if that makes sense at all?

Kame is always portraying similar characters which means he's not such a good actor (or rather, all the characters he portrays end up being very similar)

But I don't like the Sunako in the live action. And I think it's just horrible how they turned it into a complete dramatic romance drama sort of story, which the manga is the exact opposite of. And that's the reason why I like the manga too so it's also the reason why I dislike the live action.

At first i didnt like the drama since i didnt like Kyohei's actor for various reasons... but i have to admit that i think that the Sunako in the live action matches her alot, not completely but alot. She has a great voice that i thought was perfect for Sunako since it was raspy and horrish but oh well, im glad that it has a drama! now i can watch it, since the manga translation group is dead, 6 months since the last release...1 year since the 3rd last release... i hope that a scanlation group could pick it up.....just my thoughts

EDIT: yeah, but now that i have seen the entire series i think that it was great, and that Kazuya matched Kyohei in some ways.... but at the end! OMG i wish it was to end like that, but TOO MUCH KIDNAPPING!!! is all i got to say.... and i think that Sunako was portrayed in a almost perfect way, she looked almost like the actual Sunako from the manga, which i can only say that most characters in live actions based on mangas/animes do not look almost the same, thay have quite some differences but Sunako is a difference!!! AND Ranmaru in the live action was HILARIOUS!!! I can honestly say that he made me crack up and laugh out loud! I think it was episode 8 when he was the main person, it made me laugh so much!

I personally loved the drama for various reasons. First of all, as you all know, in the anime they didn't catch some cute stuff from the manga and i think they tried to fill in those gaps in the live action. What i;m trying to say is that the live action was not identical as storyline with the anime and that's great!
And the ending was....delicious roll eyes Though i am a bit dissapointed because it shows there's no sequel to the series as a drama since they "solved" the Kyohei-Sunako "conflict". Thank God for that! It was a breath of fresh air. After so much chasing in both the manga and anime , the drama came to give us some satisfaction in the matter as they formed cute couples at the end and everyone was happy.
The acting well...as all asian comedies it was exaggerated but that's what pushes their buttons, who are we to judge? smile
I enjoyed it very much and was happy with the cast 90%. From the first time i saw Kame i said i'd like to see him as Kyohei so..o complaints from me there. Takenaga seemed a bit off and Ranmaru too (they seemed older than they should've been and not cute enough for my taste shy ) Yuki was adorable though and Sunako even more!!
So...all in all they get a 9.5 for this project from me roll eyes

I'm actually someone who started reading the manga because I liked the drama (finished it in practically one sitting). As this is happening more and more (watchng drama b4 manga/anime ... Gokusen, God-hand Teru, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, ... ) I got a better understanding why some people get irked about differences (i'm the same), you tend to mostly (defo not always) favoritize what you started with and have more difficulties seeing the adaptation in it's own right

So yeah I found the Live-drama quite fun & entertaining as I haven't been burdened by comparing it to it's source material. Also it has some sort of resolve which I expect I won't get in the manga for quite a while (still in the early volumes)

Get's a solid 7,5/10 from me
