According to the caption of Monthly Dragon Age March 2010 issue on 7 Net Shopping, manga Highschool of the Dead was announced to get an anime adaptation. The authors will resume the serialization of the manga from the issue after one-year hiatus.

Sounds interesting, but does anyone have any links to confirm this? That said, I think it's great that a animated adaption of the comic could be interesting depending on how they deliver the story.

yea im not buying this ima need some real confirmation on this because from what i remeber the manga went on hiatus in volume 5 and is suppose return in march if an anime is released then i see it catching up to the manga ridiculously fast and either being cut short, or completely loaded with pointless fillers

No, it's true.
Quote The listing for the March issue of Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine on the Seven Net Shopping website states that an anime adaptation of Daisuke Satō and Shoji Sato's Highschool of the Dead manga has been green-lit. The listing also says that the manga will resume in the same issue after a break of more than a year, and it will also adorn the cover. The March issue will ship on February 9.
The story follows a group of students and a school nurse who try to survive a worldwide plague that has turned people into the living dead. - source (NSFW)

I'm excited as hell about the manga coming back from hiatus, as well as them making an anime out of it, but...

Shmoke does have a point. Only 23 chapters have been released so far and they're already making an anime? The only things I can see happening in the anime is that they're either gonna have A LOT of filler, or they'll do like One Piece's anime and carefully stretch out a chapter for a full episode. Hopefully it's the latter.

Good that the guy decided to continue Highschool of the Dead. I was afraid another of my favorite series was going down in flames. As for the anime, great news. I wonder how they will manage to do it.

That would suck...
If they decide to keep it short, they might as well make them into OVA's.

i'm just happy that the manga will finally resume, what a long wait it was . As for the anime, i think it's going to sucks, cuz the ecchiness and violences in the manga will most likely be toned down a bit to cater a wider range of viewers
