I've posted a similar topic in the past, about finding love again, but this request is more specific...

I'm looking for a manga where a widow/widower (someone with a deceased spouse) finally finds love again. This widow/widower must be the main character or part of the main couple; they cannot be just a minor character. Oh, and they have to have really loved their deceased spouse; there should be extensive flashbacks to their time together, even while being with the new lover.

Any genre except hentai/ecchi is ok. I have a preference for shoujo/josei/BL, but will consider seinen if it's well-suited to the theme. No shounen, please.

Examples: Blue Ramun, Gérard et Jacques, Suki ni Natte mo Ii no, Night Cafe, All My Darling Daughters (the mother's arc), My Mother and the Game-room Guest, Farelli's Wife (unfortunately unscanlated), For the Sake of the Rose (dead fiancee, not spouse, but it's close enough) and Your Lover (again, dead fiance).

It's possible that it's just a dead lover (not a "spouse" technically), so the main character doesn't actually have to be a widow/widower - but in this case, it should be a dead lover that they spent many years cohabiting with, anyway, so that it's still a spouse-like relationship. (For example, if it was a gay couple that couldn't get married, they'd still count as spouses if they cohabited and loved each other for many years. When one dies, the other can be considered a widower in that sense - the sense of loss is the same.)

EDIT: No one-sided loves, please! It has to have been a proper relationship with the person who passed away, with full-on cohabitation, sexual relations and preferably a duration of several years.

Note: Inspired by responses to the Past Comes Back to Haunt You thread.

Yoru Cafe
Having a deceased lover is quite a common plot but somehow I can't remember anything right now none

The Bride of the Water God
I Wish... - Not spouses or lovers, but the male lead had a serious one-sided love for the person who raised him, whose dying wish was for the male lead to find love again.
Love Mode (BL)

Thank you for the recs, everyone!

Lol @ Eeled, I know the feeling, I've often wanted to rec something and then forgotten it. biggrin Butdon't worry, since it's just a crush, it doesn't count; I'm looking for someone who had a proper spouse-like relationship with the now-deceased person (including cohabitation and sex) - so lol, first crushes at the age of 7 probably don't count. Sounds like a cute story though, I'd like to read it anyway! Same with "I Wish," Odette - preferably not a one-sided love. smile The other two do count, though.

Sagaris and jedinat, I'll definitely check those recs out!

Edit: Sagaris, I just realized that the mangaka of the seinen "Maison Ikkoku" is a woman! I didn't know that before! Lol, this is totally irrelevant to the thread... Just felt like I should comment on it since it was a pleasant surprise to see yet another awesome demographic-crossing mangaka. eyes

Heptagon has something similar to that I think...@_@ Been awhile since I read it so I don't really remember.

EDIT:
oh wait nvm, lol. It's more like a flashback than finding love again.

For the crush-dying-and-going-back-in-time one-shot, it sounds like the one-shot at the end of Boku ni Natta Watashi.

Don't have any recs for the actual request, though, sorry. ^^;

I don't know if it counts but the main heroine in Suzuka still can't forget her dead crush from middle school

Kage Aru Tokoro ni It wasnt one-sided but they were never really together. He was more like a mistress to the old dude.
