I'd have to be flat-out terrified and utterly convinced that this person was going to kill me/hurt me badly/kill a loved one. I don't think rationally when I'm terrified, so I wouldn't necessarily be judging the situation correctly. I would attack them until I was convinced they couldn't hurt anyone, whether that would mean they were dead, disabled, or unconscious. This is assuming that running wasn't an option.

When it comes to revenge, I just don't know. I don't know if I have it in me to kill someone in cold blood, or to restrain myself from getting revenge on a person who killed someone dear to me.

In any other situation, I definitely wouldn't kill. Naive as it may sound, I believe in going through the proper channels--eg. police, lawyers. For example, I have not and will not kill my psychotic neighbours, no matter how much I hate them Take legal action, yes, but no killing.

Also there should always be other options than to kill someone.

Euthanasia is an exception though.

I'd kill someone for revenge or prevenge (yes I know its not a real word), actually I'd do it if they just pissed me off. Seriously the only reason I can think of to not kill someone is the jail time I might have to serve, I mean do you know how damn boring that looks?

I don't think I would kill anyone either. Just because mentally torturing them for what they did seems so much more painful/satisfying.

Other than that, I wouldn't kill them, even if they inflicted me with life threatening injuries, hurt my family, etc...

Edit: I might add I'm fond of the mental torture, as previously mentioned, over killing someone

I think I'd kill in a heat of the moment, self-defense/defense-of-someone-close-to-me situation. Aside from that, I might do it if there was a good enough reason, even if no one was in immediate danger (I can't think of an example at the moment).

I think I'd rather avoid any revenge-killings, no matter how well deserved they might seem. The moment of self-gratification isn't worth the legal shit-storm, and on top of that, I doubt I'd feel good about it afterwards, especially if it was in cold blood. If whoever it is has done something that bad, chances are he'll end up in prison for a good while anyway, no sense killing him and taking his place.

I wouldn't kill for anything. A person can reflect on his deeds as long as he's alive. Thats what we should aim for. Which is possible, only as long as the person lives.
Thus, I believe, killing wouldn't solve anything, nor would it satisfy my revenge.

On the other hand, a psycho killer on loose who cannot think straight and kills without understanding what he's doing, needs to be put down. Though I'm not sure if I'd be upto the task of killing such a man. Or maybe I would. I think I would!

I think I would kill to protect the ones I love. Ones whom I really love, not distant relatives or friends whom I barely say hello to. Since I love myself too, I guess I would also kill in self defense. Probably.

Being hot headed I might also embark on a journey to avenge someone's death, unless someone stops me or I am thrown into jail Whether I would be able to live with myself after killing remains doubtful.
