Hi, I'm new to manga and was wondering what was some of the best manga you have ever read so maybe I could read it too. They can be completed or still scanlating and I don't mind any genre as long as it's not yaoi.

Thank You

Slam Dunk is a good choise for a sports manga and laughter

I really like Vagabond. The artwork is superb and the story is great if you like historical samurai stories. It reminds me of Akira Kurosawa movies like "Yojimbo" or "Sanjuro" and like that. Samurais are flippen sweet.

Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

for action and adventure i'd say one piece;flame of recca;shin angyo onshi;claymore
for comedy or light reads u cld try yakitate japan;soul eater;yotsubato;addicted to curry
for matured mangas with lots of sex and violence u cld try beserk;gantz;team medical dragon (tho this manga is all bout hospitals still it'll have more of a serious story plot)
if u find these good..then i'll reccomend u many many more titles biggrin

If you're looking for some long, quality (meaning good) reads I recommend Detective Conan, Hunter X Hunter, and Eyeshield 21 (excluding the really common ones).

For romance - Pastel, Girls Sarus, Lovely Complex, Gacha Gacha, Special A, and Ai Kora.

Short but sweet titles (less than 100 releases): Mx0, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Rosario Vampire, High School of the Dead, Mirai Nikki, Homunculus, and Karin.

Romance - Ichigo 100%
Action adventure - Shin Angyo Onshi
Violent - close between Tenjou Tenge and Gantz
Comedy - Can't say yet confused

For Ichigo 100% does the anime cover all of the manga or just part of it?

One Piece, Yotsubato, and Slam Dunk

They've been mentioned by other posters, but that just shows how good these series are cool

Part of it, and whatever it does cover, it does so pretty briefly.

Yeah I found the Ichigo 100% anime to be a poor adaptation of the manga . Each episode is split in 2 and it bairly covers the 1st quarter of the series well. What makes it even worse is that the manga entirely focuses on Aya Toujo, with non of the other relationships developed well enough. or at all.

Already mentioned, but I would recommend Flame of Recca and GTO.

Recca is a shounen series, but it does get quite deep and emotional later on.

As for GTO, I believe everyone who read manga should read GTO. Seriously, there is nobody like Onizuka in any other manga. Hes one of a kind, and hes awsome.

Hot Blooded Woman (It's a good read if you have never had a taste of Hwan Mi Ri's works)
Bloody Kiss
Silver Diamond(this is shonen-ai, but besides the fact that they state 2 male characters like each other, it's like a shoujo manga)
Yami No Kodou(It's another shonen-ai, but it's suspenseful)
Natsume Yuujinchou
The Flower of Evil (contains incest)
The Bride of the Water God
Sugar Addiction
Cynical Orange
Crossroad{contains incest}
D.Gray Man{action-packed}
Hana Kimi{this is a must read shoujo manga-note the words MUST READ}
Shaman King{action<3}
Tokyo Paradise
Fairy Tail{If you like One Piece, You'll definitely like this one}
Death Note

Most of the ones I recommended are shoujo. xD
