Hello, and thank you in advance for your help.
I am looking for a soft, slow-paced seinen story that is heart-warming and sweet.
By "sweet" I don't necessarily mean innocent; it can have mature content. That said, please do not recommend anything that is ecchi or smutty. I don't want gratuitous mature content.
The overall feeling the manga leaves you with should be gentleness, sensitivity, depth and warmth.
Sort of like Hourou Musuko. A story that touches the heart...
Being primarily a shoujo reader, I am really looking forward to this kind of seinen.
Please help me find it.

Thank you. It's really great that there is also an anime. I think I'll watch it, so thank you for telling me about that. I'm also happy that this manga is licensed. That way I can buy it!

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou I think it might be perfect. The other titles by Ashinano Hitoshi have that similar feeling. Anything by Sahara Mizu like My Girl. Her manga tends to be melancholic in nature. Chii's Sweet Home is cute. Emma might fit. Actually, Shirley an the sequel by the same mangaka would probably fit better. Momonchi soft and sweet. And seinen! :3
Whith some ecchi, but still good:
Chokotto Sister is a very sweet manga, despite having some ecchi. Miman Renai - I'm not sure if you'll like this one, but it's quite adorable. ^^; Kyou no Asuka Show it's about a silly girl who tries her best... I think. ;p

Gah, Swan beat me to most of the ones I wanted to recommend.
And if you haven't yet, try Natsume Yuujinchou, it's a shoujo but it fits your requirements perfectly.

I am very grateful to you, NightSwan. Out of those, I've only read Shirley and Emma. This gives me a lot of new manga to read!
I really do appreciate your effort in making the ecchi recommendations, but I'm afraid that I simply do not read ecchi as a rule. Therefore, I prefer your other recommendations.
Thank you also, bedob, but I've read that manga already, and I am looking strictly for seinen recommendations only. That said, I must agree with you that Natsume Yuujinchou gives exactly the sort of feeling I'm looking for! I love it very much, and I'm glad every time I meet another fan of this amazing manga.
Even though this is my own request thread, I would like to offer a recommendation of my own that I just remembered. It's one of the few seinen titles that I have ever read: Hotman. I think it's a very serious manga, but it is also very tender and sweet. I have such a weak spot for dorky, devoted Dads!

I'd recommend Otoyome-gatari if you haven't read it yet. It's by the same mangaka that did Emma and Shirley. Lovely artwork and a very promising storyline.
I'd also recommend Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, and Always Together but the first has a bittersweet ending, and they're both fairly short, so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.
Mushishi is another good one, if you'd like to try that out. It's also got an anime, but I haven't seen it yet.
I second NightSwan's suggestions of My Girl (SAHARA Mizu) and Chii's Sweet Home. Reading Chii just made me warm and fuzzy inside.

That's ok. Hope you'll enjoy those other ones!

If so, I'd like to add Usagi Drop.

If you like a dorky dad/son relationship try Hanaotoko. It's not all that sweet, but a real feel-good manga.

Futatsu no Spica Kabu no Isaki Waters Maybe Sing Yesterday for Me - Though I'm not sure about this because I haven't read it. Little Forest - Very strange but with a unique style. Seizon - Life - I don't think this is very sweet, but it's breathtakingly realistic. Sorry if you don't like it. Undercurrent - Maybe? Tsumi to Batsu Zoo Keeper Mokke
And I totally agree with the people who recommended Mushishi, Chii's Sweet Home, Yokohoma Kaidashi Kikou and Chinatsu no Uta. They are all exactly what you're looking for!
Also, I know you're not looking for shounen- but if you like father-child relationships, Yotsubato! is an absolute must!
