In all honesty, I thought this arc was pretty much over. No more big reveals and just everyone trying desperately to escape... But ho-ly-shit.. That was pretty awesome. Kind of on par with Ace or WB dieing... Kind of haxxorz but still pretty awesome.. Hmm.. Half was through the story and Luffy finally gets an actual, "enemy."
Also the picture along with the title. It seems as though the crew is starting to reunite.

This chapter was quite unexpected.

Teach can now use Whitebeard's ability like his own, and now, he really is a force of reckoning.

I really am pondering what kind of direction this manga will go from this point.

Anyway, looking forward to next week's chapter.

this chapters got me down now, One piece was always good to me but it feels like Oda's been forcing it for some time now, and this chapter made it all, yes, OP had the unimaginably strong yonkou and admirals and some other logia pirates but they all leveled out, but with Blackbeard seems like pushing it now, with the new ultimate villain that has too much power....fairly disappointed with the latest chapter, hope the quake power doesn't last or smt, coz if it does, OP will drop in quality, though it does seem as I said that Oda's been pushing it too much towards an ending even though it's only half there, and well, hope it comes true and smt levels out with blackbeard.....I don't want OP becoming Bleach and Naruto T_T
not to mention to add it that with Ace dead there's really no one to take on the captain position of whitebeard crew, and Marco doesn't look like a leader, so what now, and to add all the islands that whitebeard had been protecting like Fishman Island, what happens to it now withe the Marine's almost annihilated, is it gonna be a lawless zone again....man the adventure part of the genre seems to be going away bit by bit and it's becoming a pure battle manga, too much of it has been ghappenning, and seems like OP is gonna start sucking now, hopefuly not but well, I don't wanna say anything but I really do hope that one of the best shonens doesn't become a crappy Bleach look-alike now, that after a big arc you get a super villain and everyone else trying to stop him

Also, LOL, this is just dramatic storytelling. Blackbeard is pretty much still a newb. I'm sure he's gonna flee now because he knows he's not ready yet against the marines (Afro-dude, Garp, 3 Admirals, Vice-Admirals, ... ) AND the shichibukai(?). Pretty sure the other yonkou (3!!) have destructive forces too. There's Dragon and his revolutionary army. Rayleigh is around too, and who knows what other "wild cards" will pop up. Some of the shichibukai might have their own personal agenda too, like that puppet master, so we'll see. And what about that famous Dr. who created those Kuma clones? He probably has more monstrosities under his possession.

Anyways, I think it's clearly leveled out.

Blackbeard's power is an awesome loophole. This is why he's one of my favorite pirates in this story: He's batshit crazy and a genius at the same time.

And seeing how he already knew that he could suck out devil fruit powers, that means that he's gotta have at least 3 DF powers. Or it could be a plot hole Oda unintentionally made.

I don't think OP is going to degrade into Bleach. Sure, the balance of powers in OP is being disrupted, but that's because the balance was so delicate. Plus, Blackbeard strove to become the strongest by studying which fruit would be most beneficial and he killed people. In Bleach, the scale of power doesn't make sense. Suddenly, people become stronger or weaker. Aizen may have planned his takeover and killed some people, but the lastest chapters were basically saying, "Aizen is badass, and no one could or can touch him." At least Blackbeard had to work a little.
About the "It's going to be a lawless zone again," I think that was the whole point of this arc. The shit was hitting the fan when there was an outright war against the government, which was a turning point in the OP world. There was going to be chaos no matter who won.
I think the adventure still stay the same except the crew won't be as carefree. Luffy and his crew still have to travel, but their travels will be part of a larger plot, so I don't think OP will become a pure battle manga. The plot is moving forward.
Finally, Bleach only has the super villain. One Piece has conspiracy (World Government's part in the Void History), mystery (poneglyphs), dreams to strive for, and much better characterization.

Phew! I wrote a lot. I really liked this chapter, so I just had to voice my opinions about Kiks's post. Can't wait for the next chapter, Oda!!!

I feel like Blackbeard is something like Luffy. He is an underdog. He is an idiot, who is at the same time a genius. He got his ass kicked a bunch of times just like Luffy. So, it was no easy road for him as well. He will be the ultimate villain, but not now... Not yet...

I am also wondering if he can absorb more than one power...

Guess it makes sense that Blackbeard can absorb a power...after all black holes suck matter in an all. kinda wished it hadn't happened though :/ but looks like it won't be happening again soon (maybe?) as he only has two hands and each has a power now. hopefully?
anyway, it's good there's a super villain now! and Luffy will definitely grow because he'll have motivation to, ya know, beat Blackbeard.

Another awesome chapter like always. Blackbeard is sooo overpowered now, but I can't wait to see how Luffy grows. And like everyone else I wanna know if he can absorb more powers too!

Hard to say I'm a fan of the latest development, with Blackbeard getting a second devil fruit ability. I'm hoping there's some drawback to wielding two abilities at once, because right now he seems like one hell of a beast to take down, especially for Luffy (who seems like his inevitable opponent for now, unless someone like Shanks steps in).
