My friend was telling me about this one...

basically, a girl transfers into a school where she finds out that all the girls there become a weapon controlled by a boy, and the boys treat the girls very cruelly. Th main character gets mad and starts rescuing the girls and turning them into her own weapons. She treats them really well, and beats all the boys in battle.

Something along those lines.

I was thinking Shitsurakuen as well. I've heard that there is another manga that is similar (claims that Shitsurakuen stole its plot). I will look for it and get back just in case.

The other is called Shoujo Kakumei Utena. Once again, I've never read this.

While Utena is similar, I don't think the girls there turned into weapons. Of course, I could be wrong seeing as how it's been years since I watched it.

Yeah, this is Shitsurakuen. It's a pretty blatant knockoff of Utena but Utena doesn't fit the description.
