At its Tokyo International Anime Fair booth this weekend, King Records screened a promotional video that lists the planned bonus extras for the Blu-ray/DVD release of the Evangelion:2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) film. The bonus features will include deleted scenes and the "Noguchi ver." of the "I Would Give You Anything" scene. The May 26 release from King Records' Starchild label will also include the teaser trailer, the full trailer, TV commercials, and the 2.22 version of the recording script.

The video also confirms that the Blu-ray/DVD release will feature an extended version of the film at 111 minutes and 49 seconds long; the theatrical release was only 108 minutes long. Japanee subtitles are listed, but not English subtitles. Along with a deluxe booklet, the first pressing will add a film strip from the actual film reels used in the theatrical release.

This second film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion science fiction anime series was released in theaters last June under the title Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. The new "2.22" version number represents the Blu-ray/DVD release's digital mastering with "retakes." The second film continued the story of a group of 14-year-olds entrusted with giant biomechanical units to protect Earth from mysterious Angels. While the first film hewed closely to the original television series, the second film went farther in a different direction.

Funimation released the first film in the remake, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo), in North America last year in theaters and on home video. Like the second film, the first film had multiple retakes in its DVD releases, culminating with the latest "Evangelion 1.11" edition. Funimation's Blu-ray release of Evangelion 1.11 shipped on March 9.

The Yahoo! Japan website has begun streaming two promotional videos for Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha), the second of Hideaki Anno and Khara's four theatrical remakes of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime series, on Thursday. The film's 2.22 version is the extended Blu-ray/DVD cut with deleted scenes. The first 115-second promotional video is the same one that already ran at last month's Tokyo International Anime Fair and on the official website, but it has no geographical restrictions on Yahoo! Japan. The second promotional video is a 15-second Blu-ray and DVD commercial. The two videos require the Microsoft Silverlight browser plugin, which is available on Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. Yahoo! Japan is also surveying fans on whether they want a life-size Evangelion unit constructed — and if so, which Evangelion unit.

Teasers.
