I'm looking for something between Nurarihyon no Mago, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Change Guy. To be more specific I want a story where the main character starts off as weak and gets stronger due to some supernatural event. I'd like something where the weak character gets possessed and teams up with the stronger entity to fight the bad guys and along the way he gets stronger himself, like in Kiseijuu. I don't want the main character to depend forever on the stronger one.
I hope I'm not asking for too much, it doesn't have to be exactly like in my description. I usually read shoujo but after so much sugar I just need something else.
Plz no hentai, yuri, yaoi, it can be mild ecchi. I want shonen or seinen and I don't want the possession to be some comic relief.
thanks

D. Gray-Man? It's not a possession in a literal sense, but I think you may like it. The main character is not weak in the beginning, but he's gradually getting stronger.

XBlade--gets possessed once and after that he decides not to rely on that anymore and get stronger on his own will.

- Guardian Dog -- it's a lot like Kiseijuu, since he gets possessed by an alien and gets awesome alien powers! XD
- Kurozakuro -- the protagonist gets turned into some sort of monster-thingie and his body becomes a medium for Zakuro, and this is almost exactly what you're looking for, I think.
- Project ARMS -- the guys all get some strange superweapon inplanted in them, though all the weapons have artifical intelligence and the main character in particular has difficulties with his.
- Nabari no Ou -- this has some sort of sentient all-powerful ninja-magic thing possessing the main character XD
- Alive -- moar aliens. Except these aliens aren't really sentient and all they do is give you powers. It's a lot like what you're looking for, since there's "evil" and "teams" and whatnot, but there's no power struggle over the body or anything.
- Variante -- also sort of, this stars a girl and is more about her struggles with her new uh... ability.
- Boogiepop Dual or Boogiepop Doesn't Laugh -- both involve possession, but the main character doesn't really grow or anything

Inugami is like Kiseijuu, almost a clone i'd like to say =)
Hoshi no Samidare fit your searching too i think (don't read too much in the review, it's a really good but strange story)

maybe Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou, it's about werewolf.

maybe World Embryo (a really good seinen, but dunno if it fit with what you want)

If it really is good I don't mind if it doesn't fit my description, I'm open to any suggestions.
And thanks smile

Alien Nine and Milk Closet feature symbiotic relationships with aliens/extra-dimensional beings and ... hmm, I didn't think they were that close to what you were looking for at first but I guess they are. Haven't actually read Alien Nine though - the anime cuts off before any of the expected character development happens.

Be prepared for mindfuck. cool
